Yes, it's every childs nightmare, seeing their parents naked.

Although, yes i hvae unfortunaltey seen my dad naked before, i got really screwed yesterday morning.
First off, i needed to ask him a guestion about something (unimportant) and i learnt that he likes to shower with the door open. After learning of this i still needed to ask him the question.
Since i was in a little hurry myself, i didn't wait for him to come down to the kitchen/living area, instead i gave him about a 10 minute buffer in which he could finish the shower and get ready.

Anyway, to my horror, after my alotted buffer time, i assumed that he'd be milling about his office or something, but instead, i found he was still getting dressed, or moreso just starting to. Also he was getting dressed in the dining area which is near my parents bedroom, so it was even more unexpected and shocking.

I don't really know why i posted this, maybe i'll find comfort if ohter people have sorta experience this kind of horror :p

anyway, it's not good for my sexuality, do they have counselling or a trauma unit for this :| :p :lol:

i've never had the "pleasure" of seeing my parents naked, and if I ever do I will kill myself. yuck

big whoop. oh no! naked people! ever been to a nudist swimming pool? Big deal. naked people swimming and enjoying themselves and the whole "oh my god do these jeans make my ass look big?" clothing concept is optional.

I'll contribute... I walked in on my parents having sex... yes, I wanted to bleach my eyes. You'd think they'd shut their bedroom door.

well i used to take showers with my mom when i was little. i dont usually care to see her naked now though sometimes she dressed w/ the door open. blah

No, it's not the fact that it was a naked person, i really couldn't care less, moreso it's my parents?

If it was anyone else, i wouldn't be offended, but my parents?

The fact that the person is a relation makes it a little weirder for me?

Also, yes i would've used to shower with my parents as well before, but not now that i am 19 :eek: :lol:

Sigh, I must admit I've gone through that horror aswell... I feel your pain. Oh, and trust me, suicide isnt the answer.

I've seen by Dad a few times actually. My parents never shut their door unless they were actually having sex and sometimes forgot to do so then too unfortunately for my poor eyes. I've seen my mother naked often. She's pretty comfortable with us getting ready in the bathroom at the same time (growing up we only had one bathroom) and Hey looking at her is nothing new - We've both got boobs and all. The more tramatic one was when I was babysitting my neighbor's kids and he came home early. Accidently saw him dashing to the bathroom for his morning shower - I guess he must sleep in his birthday suit. Then on his way out and back to the bedroom I caught him again - this time in whitie-tighties. I was about 16 and he was pretty good looking.
Oh and I've seen my brother too. Of course when he was a baby but also when he was a teenager. In our house we all kindof had the habit of yelling "Hide your eyes" and then dashing from the bathroom to our rooms to dress. Once in a while one of us would forget to yell.

I've seen my dad.

Whats worse is that I saw him when I was 7.


It was right at eye-level.

My parents were almost hippies.

When I was a little kid.. maybe 5 or 6, I used to pee next to my dad in the bathroom 'cause it made me feel older. My dad also showed me how to shower 'cause I was gonna start growing out of baths soon. Yeah, I saw my dad in full nudity. Now I know where I *got it*

I always used to walk in on my mom when she was changing clothes too. Yeah, she was completely naked at those times too. No biggie.

I'm now pretty well adjusted.. I can look at another male's junk without flipping out.

Yeah.. nudity is great.

Parents.. No Big Deal.

When I was young (maybe 3?) my mother used to change in the bathroom in front of me...until once I yelled "haha mom i can see your boobs!!!!"


Never happened again.


I think the worst was when I was just hitting puberty and we only had one bathroom in the house, with no shower only a tub. So there I'd be in the tub bathing and mother would walk in to use the john if she couldn't wait any longer. Horrible for a pubescent boy. There was a shower in the basement that was later restored to usability (much to my delight) and I never used that tub again.

Don't recall ever seeing my parents naked. I don't think I'd have any issues with it. They might though. :)

I've seen both my parents naked plenty of times (not together!). I didn't care.

Just think - if they had not seen each other naked, you wouldn't be here. What's the big deal? We're all naked under our clothes... :D

Yeah, I also grew up with one bathroom and only a bathtub. My parents would take baths together and let me use the john when I was a little kid. Seeing my mom naked was no big deal, but for some reason, I knew to make it a point to look away as to not see my father naked. But yeah, they are just your parents. Chances are, you either have what they do, or have seen what they have on others.

I used to shower with my parents too, but fortunately never walked in on them doing anything xP

This thread really surprises me.
This is the most enlightened community on the net, yet I detect LOTS of folks with hangups. My goodness people, what kind of homes did you grow up in? A nude body is a nude body. Whether it be mom's, dad's, or grandpas.
Nudity has never been a problem in my family. I saw both of my parents naked probably every day. Big whoop. They didn't hide and I grew up without hangups. When I visited my grandparents, it wasn't uncommon to see them getting in and out of the shower. No one ever made a big deal out of it. And surprise-- I'm not a pedophile or even a rapist.
Can anyone tell me why there is such a problem with nudity in one's home? I really, honestly, don't understand.

innocent everyday naked is one thing...

but there are some things you don't want to see your parents or grandparents do. Knowing they do it is one thing, walking in on it is a horse of a different color.

When I was two years old (actually this may be my earliest memory) my mother was preparing me to take a bath -- my father had already gotten into the tub. It was a custom that my father and I bathed together quite frequently when I was young. My mother would help wash us and everything was honky-dory (as I feel this is good father/son bonding time.)

When my mom went to put my in the tub I started screaming and trying to wriggle out of her arms. Neither of my parents could understand why I was raising such a tantrum over taking a bath. They also couldn't calm me, as I then tried to get my father to get out of the bath, You see, I thought that the turtle that was in the tub was going to bite me or him -possibly both of us.

Yeh, we still have laughs about that one. It certainly wasn't green, but that fucker was moving its head about and there was NO WAY you were getting me into that bath tub.

anyway, seriously now, not everyone grew up in the same family environment. You have to appreciate that my family isn't the same as yours, so we have differently formed relationships and comfort zones with each other.

Yes, back when i was younger and growing up, i'd see my parents naked alot of the time and it was no big deal. Still now, it really isn't, although people fail to realise that a lot of my posts are done for a bit of fun and with light heartedness in mind.
But it's sometimes hard to express that with text, when you need tone of voice, facial expression and body language. So i really wasn't THAt offended or grossed out, but normally i'd prefer not to see family members naked.

I also think it's great that others are open enough with each other and their families, but although it's my personnal preference not to see other family members naked. If i do, it isn't too much of a big deal, yes, i am a little shocked, although it's not really a life and death issue.

I think, maybe we're probably not that much different, although since i oversensationalised the issue by making a topic it'd probably make me appear very shocked and traumatised, which isn't really the case. Sure i was a little uncomfortable for a second but i don't really have a hang up for days, it does go away pretty quickly. I think it would be anyone naturals reaction to seeing anyone naked, especailly when i wasn't expecting it, that's might be the main shock value?

As for well adjusted. Although i don't really know what the fuck that means, how can one really say you're well adjusted? based on what?

I am also able to look at another guys genitals wihtout having any hang ups whatsoever. I do shower with friends, after sports/games and theres no big deal whatsoever, mainly, perhaps, because i know i am going to see them naked :eek: :p

For an anology or to help understand wher i am coming from, take looking at mediacl scenes, for an example:

Theres a similar argument that people who can't stand to look at medical scenes aren't well adjusted, or vice versa? who knows?
I can look at medical scenes and not feel queesy or flip out, where as others get "grossed out" by it?
Although it could be said i am not well adjusted or whatever, since i can stand to look at the scenes (i must be a sadist or something then :roll: ) or on the flip side people who can't, aren't because they can't handle it, when it's just the inards of a human body?

Either way, who's well adjusted. Some people have a personnal preference not to look or see these medical scenes whereas others don't really get shocked by it. This issue is the same as seeing parents naked or anything else whatsoever. it's your own comfort zone.

Although i must reiterate that seeing my parents really isn't too bigger deal, and now i am being serious i must say that it was probably more the shock value of not suspecting to see anything that cause the main shock.

Anyways everyones family is different and they have differrent comfort zones with each other depending on how their relationships have formed and developed. People themselves also have different comfort zones in what they choose to see or are comfortable with seeing, so that's why.

also, in my original post, terms i used, completely oversensationlised my feelings. Yes i was shocked, but any nightmares or anything esle, whatever, aren't true and yes i manage to get over it extremely quickly.

as for well adjusted, myself, i think it's a fucked up term. Sorry .

ive seen my mom naked

came home early from school and she was taking a bath with the door open. i ran in to use the toilet and uhh....you know

When I was a kid, back when there were dinosaurs, almost nobody had their own pool and the water nearby was full of too much crude oili to dip your tootsies in. So if you went swimming, you went to the public plunge, which had locker rooms and all. So I saw my dad naked a fair number of times starting at the age of four or five. No biggy, except I thought he looked weird, large stomach and all. Now I look like that myself.

Never saw Mom in the buff, though.

I've seen my parents and my kids have seen me, it's no big deal. I guess it could be a big deal to some.

My dad left when I was in elementary school, but before that it was no big deal to see my parents naked. I've always seem my mom naked. LIke so many other people have said, growing up with only one bathroom makes it pretty common. I've seen my step dad a few times but it's more of the "poke head out of the bedroom, see if anyone is still awake, cover with hands, scurry to bathroom"... good thing he only comes on weekends ;).

My boyfriend and I actually just caught my mom and step dad having sex on the couch. I walked in the house thinking they wern't there because all the lights were off. I was wrong. My b/f and I greeted her on her way to her room wraped in a blanket! Next time I'm gonna make sure I talk to her specifically before coming down to visit!

I used to bathe with my parents when I was a little tyke. I am sure it would be no big deal if I accidentally walked in on one of them dressing now. For some odd reason though, a little part of me wants to know if I got my manhood size from my pops. We have joked VERY casually about it as a family, but my parents are very conservative so I had to keep the jokes and innuendos relatively clean.

I've seen both of them naked and even heard/seen them having sex and it didn't bother me at all. I didn't linger on these occasions but I didn't run screaming either. I jsut accepted that they were ppl just like I am and have junk/want to fuck like everyone else. I think it would be uncomfortable if my mother was really hot or something, but Luckily she looks like a mom so it's just another naked person.

I saw my girlfriends mother naked once. I lost interest in my girl after that. It was older women for me. I still have a crush on her mom....

My dad was (is) a nudist, so it was a regular thing growing up. Grandparents would be over the top for me, but its just parts. Parts is parts.

Sleepyjack, those comments about being 'well-adjusted' rang true for me- Some folks wear it as a badge of pride that they can handle nudity or violence or jumping off an airplane. Why should it be shameful on the other hand to have hangups about these things?

I don't think the problem is seeing your parents naked....its being turned-on by seeing your parents naked that you should see someone about ;) ;)

I have no problem with people who are modest/shy about the whole thing but to act all disgusted and grossed out by an accidental glimpse of mom or dad naked is wrong.We all get older
and those are the bodies that made your life begin and that worked to care for and support you.
