I have to ask. I just do.

Why is it that women tend to be so PC about things, all the damn time? I know, I know....don't generalize. I just get really tired of the verbal neatness sometimes. I mean, I'm a generally nice guy. I don't smoke, I don't drink, I take care of myself, I don't call women bitches or twats, I don't make fun of people based on their nationality, looks, or anything else. I believe I am a decent person. However, I do have one noticeable flaw: I don't mince words. I don't go out of my way to hurt people's feelings, and hardly ever do, but I absolutely hate it when people hold back on what they REALLY think. My wife, for example, will tell me about a co-worker of hers or someone she knows that behaves like an asshole, doesn't care about others, etc. You know the drill. So I tell her to tell that person. I don't mind being told about these things, but why is it so damn hard to tell the person in question directly what you think of them? She says she can't. Why? Because it isn't "nice".

Why does it always have to be nice? When I call the dog "the little shit", it's an affectionate term. I won't even go into the fact that I find the very concept of "bad words" utterly ridiculous (who the hell decides which words is "bad" anyway?). If someone treats you like an asswipe, don't just sit there, sip your tea and take it!

The reason I am bringing this up is because I have noticed this to be a mostly female thing. I know the males aren't supposed to read the chick board, but on the rare occasion that I do, I am a bit amused by the very PC terms used. Generally, women don't say "pussy", they use "coochie", or "coo-la-lah" or whatever other lame words there are for it. They'll say "penis", or if they're feeling adventureous, might even use "dick", but hardly ever a word like "cock" or "schlong".

Maybe I just live in a very pussified world, and didn't realize it. Or better yet, maybe I'm the asshole here and never realized that either.

I may be old-fashioned, but if I ever have a son, I hope I'll live long enough to be a role model for him. I will teach him that it is okay to get mad, it's okay to say so when something "sucks", and it is okay to live true to who you are and what you believe, instead of sipping your tea and taking it.

I'm a girl and I know that I don't like using the word 'cock' or 'schlong' because they're silly names for something so cool. HAAAAAAAAA. XD
Anyway, yeah, girls are more sensitive I guess you could say...but mostly we just want to get along with people. Guys are just more aggressive in the long run I guess.

Throughout history, women have always been held to a higher moral standard- in today's society, it seems mostly by other women- and have, usually since birth, been taught that "ladies" do not "say such things". They do not cause scenes, they do not embarrass other people, etc. Many feel, because of this, that to confront another person in an offensive manner would be very mean, or bitchy, or uncouth.

On the other hand, there are those mothers, and I'm thankful they exist, that teach their daughters that you do not take shit from people. If someone gives you shit, you let them know in no uncertain terms and rip their spine out of you have to. This seems to be the growing trend today, as people become more enlightened and progressive, and not following the old path of being docile and subservient.

Guys have always had the macho card layed on them, so that means "pushing up" in front of your friends, talking shit about people you don't like, etc. It's been considered the "manly" thing to do, mostly because it's (back in times past) what seperated men from the women- agressiveness, being out-spoken, starting fights, etc.

I understand the Mary Poppins reference, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Proper lady and all that she is. Also, good pull on the "sucks" thing. I can't stand it when I say soemthing sucks and some (9/10 girls) girl says, "don't say sucks, that's not nice!" They usually get a speech similar to what I wrote above. And then I say some random inappropriate word, as above with "Cock."

It is 100% acceptable for you to READ the Ladies Lounge. The rules say don't POST there. If we didn't want people even READING it, we would close it off to those people we didn't know were ladies

On to the subject at hand, I think that there are guys that fall under this category too. Perhaps not as many, but they certainly exist. It all has to do with how people are brought up.

I dont care how people talk, if they dont want to express their opinions thats their choice....but I do hate the whole PC crap thats goin on these days... Im a white male and shouldnt feel guilty about it. I also have the right to feel uncomfortable about certain people or situations, or get angry and express my anger. I aslo understand that no one has the right "to not be offended". Theres always going to be offensive stuff in the world and people should just get over it.

When people automatically assume that their "open minded" life is automatically better than mine...they're being just as closed minded as they say that I am.

I know I hate that shit. I have a really dirty mouth and I like being honest. Example, I found out before class while talking to some girls that Ron Jeremy was coming to my school and I got all exited about how I like porn, you should have seen the way they looked at me.

So yeah, people should be more direct and not try to hide what they feel and who they are all the time.

I'm bothered by the need to be overly PC. But why do we need so many synonyms for actions and body parts? The words themselves don't bother me, its the connotations. Ugly connotations = ugly words. And personally, I hate to see beautiful things mucked up by ugliness. So I'm going to use words that relate what I mean, and you can do whatever you want.
