I'm going to feel really silly if this thread has been posted, but here is the question. Where did you meet the person you are currently dating? i'm just trying to get a handle on where people meet each other.

wendy's, met her with my friend who was going there to meet his girlfriend (my current girlfriends best friend)

I met my boyfriend online....on hotornot.com to be precise.
Yeah, I know it sounds kind of lame. But we exchanged IM's and talked for like three months before we ever met in person. We became friends first, and are friends foremost. It just progressed into a relationship that I'm becoming rather serious about.

Freshman dorm ended up in her room watching Stigmata.

High School Band her freshman and my sophomore year. Started dating a year later. Still going.

on the fencing team in college, started studying together, and then fell for him

Roommate of a Girlfriend of a Co-Worker. I went over one night and she hated me. I grew on her, though. Been 4 years and she's still with me.

on a message board. it was one of those webportal sites for my college, so it wasn't a completely random event. just 5 weeks so far, but still counting...

My sister invited this guy over at 12.30 at night and my boyfriend came along with him as his "out" should he need it. We ended up playing fooseball and after that we just started talking online. We've been together for almost two years now.

The local high school bands rock show :P

Here is another "online" one to add.....my there do seem to be alot of those.

Nextdoor neighbors in a dorm freshman year...We met during Orientation.

A chemistry lab class in university. It was her first semester and I laughed at some guy I knew who was trying to put the moves on the fresh meat. :D

That was 9 years ago and we've been married for 3.

we were friends through friends in highschool. one day i broke up with an ex (number 2). we decided to go out to dinner. started hanging out. progressed into a relationship after about a month. she and i have been together for a year and just about a half now. seen eachother every day. crazy nuts in love.

i met mine in one of the dodgiest nightclubs in london. amongst football hooligans and slappers, she was the most beautiful girl in the whole place. i just had to go and talk to her!!!

she left for her home country a month later, and now we see each other about once a month. we keep in touch with phone calls/emails/texts and its been going strong for 7 months!!!!

Personal advertisement (mine not hers). I was coming off of a bad relationship and just wanted to meet someone with little effort. Been together almost 14 years now.

me and my fiance met at a car meet, a friend of a friend and we went all back to her house for a party afterwards.. been awesome ever since :)

Someone else's prom. We had mutual friends that were a year ahead of her. They left us at the table. She asked me to dance, we did and we're together now over 24 years.

I answered her online personal ad...I think it was through excite/yahoo or somewhere.
We exchanged email for about a week, before I went to meet her in person as she was just leaving work.
We've been together ever since (married 3 years now).

Met on the internet.. the first day we met I showed up to her place plastered.. great impression on her father :rollseyes: But we've been together for a few years now and are still goin strong :D

work.. i was the service technician and she kept "breaking" her computer.... at least that what I think she did.. friends for many years first... then casually dated, now married for almost 2 years :)

She invited my friend to a party and he asked if I could come... In retrospect a bad move for him seeing as she ended up going out with me, but everything works out :)

Friend of a friend. She was my booty call. Then her damn Phyciatry Degree kicked in and got me. We've been married for a little over a year now.

Met her through a ex-friend. She says she had a crush on me before we even met. All she did was hear me play bass on a tape and a couple of stories from the ex-friend.
Its amazing what music can do to some people.

Met her at a bar...she look pissed so I suggested I buy her a drink and tell me all about it--nothing like a stranger to bounce your probs against...

Apparently I was a good listener, but in truth, I just didn't understand...j/k

We first met at a Russian Placement Exam when we were starting college. I was under the impression that she was dating my roommate, so I didn't make a move.

About a month later we met when we both had shows on the campus radio station.

That was 38 years ago last month. We're still together.

Met my husband, Mr. Quackers, in Ireland--how cool is that???

Met in Band in like....my freshman year and his sophomore year of high school. Started really getting to know each other in a more personal way on the internet a couple years later. He and I were bored so I invited him over to my house.

We've been going out nearly six months.

I forgot to add mine, she came over to meet her boyfriends new gay friend (my roommate) and stayed to play AD&D. I have to like a girl who will play AD&D.

St. Patty's Day in Savannah, Georgia. I was in town visiting my best friend who goes to SCAD and she was in town to visit her best friend, also a SCAD student. It just so happens that our best friends were ALSO friends. We hung out all weekend, realized we only lived 20 minutes from each other (her Wilmington, me Philly) ....a few months later we were dating!

Lots of really tear-jerking ones, but this one really hit me hard.

Met my first at school, worked on the school news (highschool) together.

My second and longest relationship got started in a chat room in Yahoo. Were chat friends for about 2 years, finally decided we should do something about how we felt for each other, and then we were together for over 3 years- long distance from Idaho to florida (1200 miles). She even moved here but we'd grown to be 2 different people, and it didn't work out.

My last one was a co-worker, was with her for about 5 months or so.
