Classical music to have sex to?
Does anyone have suggestions on classical music to have sex to?

Hmm classical? Can't help you there. I am more into having sex to stuff like Closer-Nine Inch Nails...lol that song gets me in the mood just by hearing it *shudders*

Do people actually put music on specifically to fuck to? I can't imagine that. It's just background noise at that point anyway. I mean, if something is playing, that's fine, but I never put anything on specifically for that purpose.

+1. I can't think of any musical pieces that constitute a thoughtful accompaniment to the sound of balls-on-ass slapping.

While not really my thing, Enigma has some pretty sensual stuff that is instrumental enough to not be disruptive. I like something with rhythm though... Like Madonna's Erotica. La Mer by NIN is also pretty cool, as well as some of the remixes of "Closer".

Depending on the mood...
"Hungry Like the Wolf" "I'm Much Too Young to Feel This Damn Old" "Unchained Melody" (walked down the aisle to that one) Quote:

I just can't imagine putting on [album] so me and the ol' lady can get down. If there is music playing, that's great but we never even pay any attention to it once the clothes start coming off anyway.

Since we've veered off the path so far, the whole Depeche Mode discography is great to have sex to.
But, does anyone else have a "classical music" answer to this?

To the OP - Mahler or Bruckner are great for passion.
1812 overture is great for excitement. Stravinsky or Strauss are great for lush romantic strings. The well tempered clavier is a god set for background noise. Du Pre playing Dvorjak is beautiful. Kennedy playing the Four Seasons is anodyne but unobjectionable. What sort of music do you like for NOT having sex to? The problem with the question in the OP is that it's like asking "what's the best sexual position, or what's the best place to have sex - people all have their own opinion. Quote:

The first thing I thought of was Flight of the Bumblebee. Full orchestra. That's what I would choose...not because of it being sexy, simply for entertainment value.

From my best experiences:
Bolero is nice, but it's not grandiose enough. Edit: If you're a fucking god, try all ~55 minutes of Daphnis et Chloe. It will change your life. Here's the last 5 minutes or so: Last edited by Willravel; 04-11-2009 at 02:35 PM.. |

![]() Anyway, I'm not really into listening to music while having sex, and the music really depends on what kind of mood you're in. I can't imagine "classical" music working if you're fucking, but if you're making love, as they say, then I suppose there are some decent options. I'd probably go for something more minimalist, like Philip Glass. Metamorphosis One Metamorphosis Two Metamorphosis Three Metamorphosis Four Metamorphosis Five

What what what? You haven't really sat down and listened to the whole thing, then. Grandiose is "Bolero"'s middle name. The whole point is how it builds from nothing to a massive full-orchestra orgasm.
If you really listen to "Bolero", you'll go fucking nuts about 15 bars from the end... when they hit the second chord in the piece. Of course people think it's sex music because of the Bo Derek connection. ---------- Post added at 09:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:02 PM ---------- Quote:

Listen to the Mozart piece I posted. It's full, encircling the listener like a violent storm. Bolero is a masterful piece, but it's never had the depth necessary to represent the complexity of love, imho. And while for the sake of this thread it's probably accompanying thrusting and grinding, it's still a bit too redundant. It's not as bad as Cannon in C (*shudders*), but it needs to move through different emotions and themes in order to really represent a proper session. Unless it's a quicky, in which case the Minute Waltz will do just fine. But who wants to put on music for a quicky? ![]() |

Depends on how you're doing it, what the mood/chemistry/tempo is like.
A couple possibilities off the top include: "Ode to Joy" from Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 "Carmina Burana" - Carl Orff "Requiem in D Minor" - Mozart "Violin Concerto No. 5 in A Minor" - Henri Vieuxtemps "Serenade for Strings, Elegia, Larghetto Elegaico" - Tchaikovsky "Nocturne No. 2 in E flat" - Chopin Or if you like opera: "Carmen" - Bizet "La Boheme" - Puccini "Les Troyens" - Berlioz "Turandot" - Puccini "Die Zauberfloete" - Mozart "Don Giovanni" - Mozart

Great line, Tully Mars!
![]() When I was first sexually active (in my slutty mid-teens) I knew a few guys that must have had that playing in their heads, whether they knew it or not! ![]() About the same time frame would be the orgasmic final chords of the beginning section of Also Sprach Zarathustra by Richard Straus, (most commonly heard as the opening of the old 2001 Space Odyssey movie) an hour long dull piece of music with a great premature climax in the first minute! All sorts of answers possible here. It all depends on what you like. I would never do this, but to answer the question, i'd go with a piano piece by Arthur Lourié, Scriabin, Protopopov... something like that. The big problem is that most classical music has too much of a narrative for the bedroom. You might get away with some romantic chamber pieces or lieder, but some of the same sort of pieces could also be really distracting. The safest choice might be Satie's "furniture music" or the Gymnopédies. But what do you do about the piano player?
I knew a woman who put on Miles Davis' soundtrack to Ascenseur pour l'échafaud when she was in the mood. |
