Interesting little online test to see if you're a sex addict (there is debate whether or not sex addiction is a real thing...)

I did it twice.

I scored a 12 on the first go round and an 11 on the second go round.

Either way, I'm past the point where the two curves intersect....:orly:

I've always prided myself on a healthy libido and very much love sex. About 4 or so years ago, I lost almost all (but not quite ALL) sexual desire and it was quite disconcerting. Having been sexually driven since I was 11 or so, I was quite distressed. If given the choice between that and being a horndog, I'll take the latter - thank you very much.

I scored a 3, but it did have this to say:

Yes, I am definitely preoccupied by sex, but generally I take care of said preoccupation by writing smut and/or having sex with my partner and/or masturbating, not by acting out in a destructive manner.

I scored a 1. I thought i might score higher. Not sure if i should be happy with 1 or should go outside and have sex on the front lawn to boost it up.

In addition there are certain subscales to further confirm that a problem exists. The following patterns emerged in your answers:

I've wondered how to try to evaluate this. Good reference. I ended up at a 9 and an 11, but I'm working on retuning my life to make more positive sexual experiences, rather than the ones I have experienced in the past.

I scored a 4. And that was with a fairly generous interpretation of the questions.

I scored an 11 and I've often pondered the question of whether I'm an addict or not. I figure that I'm not neglecting other important aspects of my life and I'm not hurting anyone so I'm just sexually driven.

I'm kind of an adrenaline addict as well, I think they seem to go hand in hand for me.

Since that site doesn't agree with my browser/Linux OS, and I probably shouldn't go there during work, I'll consider myself a virgin sex addict. I know if I found a willing girl, we would be exhausted everyday from having as much sex as possible.

I scored a zero, which I find interesting since I enjoy sex & like to keep things interesting.

Maybe I should try ED meds, even though I don't need them (at least not yet :D).

based on a very liberal reading of the questions. It's the "do you ever" that gets you, because if I've once looked atporn when my wife was in the room, I get the same score as I would have if I did it for hours every day.

Zero here... and y'all know that I love all kinds of sex. Guess I don't think about it much--I just do it. :D

Scored a 7. Thought it would maybe be higher, but I answered truthfully. It actually made me feel a little better.

I take issue with the question "Have you had sex with minors?"

It should be "Have you had sex with minors as an adult?" because there's nothing wrong with having sex with minors when you, too, are a minor.

I scored a 6, though. Shrug.

I got a 7. But like stated above, if you've looked at porn once with a SO in the room, it's like you do it every day.

I don't agree with it. I don't struggle with anything. As far as staying with someone when they become physically/mentally abusive...that's not exactly a sexual addiction issue. More like a self esteem or fear issue.

Well, that's the thing. This is a funny thread--people with high numbers are a bit disturbed about it, and people with low numbers feel like it should be higher. This thing seems to point to a certain sexual self-esteem issue...

That's the issue I have too, I don't struggle with anything regarding sex, I just kind of go with the flow so I don't know how accurate that test can be if it assumes that because you do one thing you must be struggling.

I scored a 7 but I think it would have been lower if it reflected why I answered certain questions the way I did...it's a very limited test. The questions are ambiguous to me.

But I'm with others regarding some of the questions... Hmm, "ever have sex with a minor?" Not since I was a minor. And, "Has the Internet created sexual problems for you?" I think its pretty accurate, but what its describing is your likelihood of having PROBLEMS with your sexuality. Just because you scored low doesn't mean you're not sexual, just that the behaviors you exhibit aren't generally those of addicts. And just because you score high doesn't mean you ARE an addict, but that you SHARE behaviors with those commonly exhibited by addicts, thus you should generally be a bit careful.

Wow. My score was much, much higher than I expected.

I need to consider this carefully.

I view it like a doctor's risk chart. Just because you're in the high-risk section for heart disease doesn't mean you HAVE heart disease. Just you're disposed to it, given the information. So you should be a bit more careful than someone in the low risk section.

First time I took the test was when this thread was first created: I scored an 11.
I just retook it, and got a 12.
I think the test puts too much emphasis on a total summary of sexual activity. Or perhaps I shouldn't have answered the questions based on my entire sexual experience. *shrugs* Past activity was considered in my answers, based on how the questions were worded.
So, I suppose, then, encompassing all my sexual experience, I'm a 12. :P Though not necessarily a 12 now.

Damn, I'm only a 4. I think I lied on a few questions, so I took it again and only came out a 7, although some of those questions were a bit vague. Like #2, what do they mean by your parents having trouble with sexual behavior?

Well, I can't take this quiz...but I did read a story in a magazine last night about a woman who has a very high sex drive. Apparently, she 'needs' sex at least five times a day, dumped her boyfriends because they couldn't keep up with her, found another guy and forces him to take viagra all day everyday just so he can pleasure her. I was appalled at how selfish one can be when it comes to sex.

Made me wonder - if having sex five times a day doesn't make you a sex addict, what does?

I scored a 16, for those of you who don't already know-I am addicted to sex. My husband tells me all the time that I am a freak when it comes to sex-now
I have the test results to prove it. I think if I was a guy I would have answered yes to more questions and ended up with a 19 or 20!!

Wow-I shouldn't be surprised it doesn't take long for people around me to learn what an addict I am. It is kinda funny sometimes-and oh so much fun!!!!!!!
