Funny, if it weren't for a conversation I had with a friend I'd have said 'hell no', as all of my sleep overs growing up were crazy shit free. This friend talked about sleep overs where someone would jack off into a sock or some such and they would throw it at each other. This friend also was gay so I think there is a connection there.

Edit:I'll add that he thought tossing around a cumsoaked sock was perfectly normal behavior for a sleep over and had some name for it. I think he was somewhat surprised I never heard of it and thought it was a bit odd. I'll also add he didn't know/accept/think he was gay at the time.

All guys do it as teens(and probably girls as well havent asked any of my gf's seems like an akward question) and if they say they didnt they're lying and probably did it more than anyone else. Anyway I shared this with really only my closest friends but, understood most did it.

One thing im curious about (i agree with it but dont know why) is why its gay for boys to experiment but common for girls?

I don't believe I ever didn't masturbate. I guess my first conscious effort was when I was 5. That's the first time I remember knowing what I was doing. I didn't discuss it with anyone until high school, but I already knew that people did it. When I was 12 I injured myself while doing it and then I had to discuss it with a doctor, which was horribly embarassing at the time, but I suppose that it's just funny now. I still do it as often as possible. :)

Wow. Some of you guys started pretty late, imo. I was probably the first in my elementary school to discover what my clitoris and vagina were and what kind of fun they could show me.

The first couple times I was pretty loud... I got quieter as I got more and more used to doing it.

As a teen, I spoke pretty openly about it. Someone can come up to me on the street and ask me if I masturbate and I'll tell them, "Sure, when I feel like it."

I used to do it everyday, as often as I could.. over the years the urge has gotten weaker and weaker to now where I only do it when I feel like it.

I really didn't know about masturbation until I was about 18. Growing up in Utah can do that to you.

I did it all the time but either didn't talk about it or outright denied it up until a year or two ago. My strict Catholic upbringing had me believing that everything between the knees and the hips was dirty, and it's one of many religious neuroses I worked hard to discard and flush from my subconscious once I lost my faith.

Lets see age of 12 I had sleepovers involving video games, DnD and soda, "experimentation" never came up. We all beat off like crazy (at least I did) but it never required discussion, and never company.

The closest we ever came to discussing masturbation or sex really was the "Unlawful Book of Carnal Knowledge" DnD ebook that got occasionally mentioned. Even then we were discussion the dangers of the curse orgasmic monster summoning, or the cursed item belt of gender bending, or the percentage chance a dwarf could mate with an elf successfully.

No wonder i lost my virginity at the age I did. We were really dorks come to think of it.

My $.02:

First time was when I was 13. Had no idea what I was doing, but I found that humping the mattress felt pretty damn good.

Did it the next night again to see if I could replicate it, or if it was just a one time deal.

After that it was pretty much an everyday type thing.

Funny part (or sad, depending on your perspective) - I didn't know what it was that I was doing.

My attitude was pretty much ambivalence - until I found out from a church leader that what I was doing was a sin.

I can honestly say that I have never felt as much guilt in my life as I did after that moment. Was a pretty heavy load for a 15 year old to take. I felt as though I had done something akin to murder in the eyes of God.

Basically - it sucked.
