So, my penis is about 5.5 inches in circumference, pretty much exactly the size of a cardboard tube that toliet paper comes on. Is there anything my partner can do to be able to take me without it being painful and causing bleeding? Some way to gradualy stretch it a bit?

Lube.

That is (or should be) the first recommendation of any discussion on anal sex. Use it liberally. There's no such thing as too much until it pools on the sheets.

To directly address the question, you need to go slowly. Start with a finger and work your way up to two, then three (if I've got my measurements correct). Or you can try toys, increasing in size. And you've got to take your time. You're not going to be able to do it as a quicky. Instead of a quick snack, think long, drawn-out formal banquet. It's going to take a long time to get her to the point where she can handle you, and honestly, I think that you should probably try the first few times ending with fingers/toys and only introduce your penis once you're both sure she can handle it.

Finally, use lots of lube (it should be the last recommendation too).

all i know is when i read the title, i knew i had to read this thread. when i misread the measurement as a 5.5 in diameter penis, i thought this was the best thread of the day. now that's a little less than 2 inches, i'll just echo jazz and be done with it. consider that your anal play may be restricted to toys and jacking off, because i think 2 inches up the ass does indeed sound painful. i'm sure it can and has been done though, and will done again. i wish you all the luck in joining the club.

National average circumference is 4.5 to 5...I'm not sure 5.5" is really getting into 'too thick' territory.

An ex of mine related that a hookup she attempted to have at one point was like trying to have sex with a doorknob, about a 3" diameter. THAT is too thick, 5.5" is on the high side of average.

I'm not saying this to try to diminish the size of your manhood, I'm just trying to say, all usual anal sex guidelines apply, you shouldn't need to take any more or less precautions than anyone else.

As I side note, I'm bisexual with a slight prefrence for women. Part of the reason I asked this is because the guy I'm currently dating has an even thicker dick then mine (I think somewhere between 6" and 6.5" girth), and I would like to be able to take it without bleeding.

i can honestly say that i'm not personally thrilled at the idea of having objects pass into my ass, but that's an aesthetic thing. objects in my ass + bleeding = not happening. dude, i think that can seriously mess your ass up and give rise to infections and what not, no? i'd pretty much put the ix-nay on the ass-ay uckery-fay, and get this dude to put something else in your ass, yotta. i mean, fucked up anal sphincter + infection would seem to be a bad line of approach, so to speak.

Guys, muscular tears are different than tissue tears. If it's the tissue tearing, you've still got risks of infection, but it doesn't mean that you'll never poop right again. It's not something I'm at all interested in, but if it's your thing, have fun.

yotta, just have him go slow and take his time. Or you can spend some time on your own getting ready for him beforehand. Apparently butt plugs can be worn for a decent amount of time, and that may be what you need to stretch yourself. It might also work for your female partner, if she's willing to give them a try.

If you have multiple partners, you need to make sure that all of you are using barrier protection every single time, otherwise you're going to be swapping a lot of STD's. Barrier protection means condoms, either male or female. Also, no swapping of toys without either condoms or a thorough washing with soap and hot water. If they're dishwasher safe, use one.

Finally, its interesting that the tenor of this thread changed so quickly when it became male-on-male anal sex versus male-on-female.

Anal sex is fairly prevalent, if there were serious health risks to the activity there would be a hell of a lot more people getting treated at the hospital about it.

Just take it slow, use plenty of lube. If that still doesn't do it just work up to it, play with something thinner and gradually move up to your partner's size.

Have you done a search for this topic? I know that I have commented personally on at least one "How to have anal sex" thread in the past, so it must be out there somewhere. There is also at least one thread on women using strap-ons with their male partners, which may also contain some useful tips.

That said, have you used smaller dildos to warm up your partner (or yourself)? When we started having anal sex, we found that in addition to plenty of lube, fingers and smaller silicone dildos were very good for getting the other person to relax gradually.

Have you ever experienced problems with anal sex before your current partner?

Lots of warming up. Toys that spread (the cone style plugs), working them for a little while. You're going to have to work it a little to make it more accommodating- in other words, pre-stretch it a bit. Lots of lube. Good luck.
