additional reason why im not voting for kerry

i get 5-10 pop ups a day depending how long i am on my computer advertising to vote for him.....

anyone else get the one im thinking of...if i get it in the next hour or so i will take a print screen and upload it.....

the one i get closes my favorites and appears there

Redlemon 07-29-2004 06:05 AM

Dude... why are you still seeing popups? Either switch to Firefox or, if you insist on IE, install the Google Toolbar for popup blocking.

Charlatan 07-29-2004 06:07 AM

My thoughts exactly.

silent_jay 07-29-2004 06:26 AM

Ya, that's what I was thinking, instead of complaining about the pop ups, stop them.

This makes no sense to not vote for someone because of their adds on the internet, maybe look at the issues instead.

My Spidey Sense tells me this thread is going to be locked for having both no value and being in the wrong forum (computers).

G5_Todd 07-29-2004 09:15 AM

well i use pop up blocker, adaware and spybot search and destroyer....

just figured if anyone in here is in the political / campaigning realm....might be good advise to tell your canidate not to advertise this way

silent_jay 07-29-2004 09:34 AM

everyone advertises this way, google just stops them from getting through

Averett 07-29-2004 09:35 AM

Firefox and Google are your friend :)

Please, decide on the real issues when you vote. Not pop-ups.

filtherton 07-29-2004 10:42 AM

I'm not voting for bush because i don't like his sense of fashion. ;)

I'll admit, that part is a good point. Did anyone buy an X-10 camera after being bombarded with popups, or did you intentionally decide to buy another brand because of the popup inundation?

seretogis 07-29-2004 01:32 PM

Supposedly, 1/5th of people affronted with spam actually buy something from it. I think the solution is to systematically exterminate that 1/5th. We can send everyone a spam about removing themselves from the gene pool for a low low price of $19.95 and see who responds. ;)

A good start, but how do we make it attractive... perhaps "You are a finalist in the Darwin Awards!! Click here for entry requirements!!!" :D

There are plenty of better reasons to not vote for Kerry. Here's a new one for me:

The man went to Vietnam and reenacted his own battles for a camera so he could use them later to political advantage. That's pretty sick.

cthulu23 07-29-2004 03:22 PM

Hwed,

Where did you get that information?

Edit: never mind, I found it on Freeper central.

Of course, all the post says is that Kerry recorded the scene of the battle with a Super8 camera and later showed it to one reporter. If this is the same report that you mentioned, it hardly qualifies as shameless promotion.

Jeff 07-29-2004 08:35 PM

Blame the advertising company, I'm sure Kerry and company had nothing to do with it.

It's your fault, anyway.

Firefox.

mml 07-29-2004 10:45 PM

Yes, Kerry took a Super 8 camera with him to Vietnam, and actually took pictures. Yes John Kerry saved the life of fellow soldiers and low and behold he forgot to tape it. Yeah, at 23, he was really trying to ensure that some 37+ years later he could run for president. Get a grip and lets talk issues.
