the weak kneed comment makes me think that the sentiment is true

the line we are being fed is that the opposition to the war was based on the fact that the Canadain government suports a multinational approach to world conflict

without the UN the Canadain governments hands were tied

but one thing that doesnt make much sense to me is what did Canada do in suport of the first gulf war

Answer: run blockades

What did Canada do during the second gulf war

Answer: run blockades

so from my point of view Canada was talkin out of both sides of its mouth

Are you kidding? There has always been an anti Canadian sentiment. Who really cares about those whale eatin' loggers anyway? Dar har har......just kidding, to be honest I haven't heard a thing...i personally don't have a thig against 'em. Life is to friggin' short to be hating people ya know?

your television has indeed been broadcasting stories out of context... and so has everyone else.

i have made an effort to watch as many television sources, and read as many written sources as possible during this was, and every nation is guilty of this. normally, one would have to "Read between the lines", but in this war the differences are so blatant.

overall, i think one disadvantage of the coverage of this war is that is has been so fragmented, and hour-by-hour, and video clip by video clip.

I cant' speak for everyone, but I like Canada, my friends like Canada, and we have nothing against you. Sure, we poke fun at you guys, but it's like siblings teasing, they dont' mean any harm by it.

I think it's a matter of a slow news day for the Canadian media. There's not a whole lot of federal internal politics at the moment. Most Americans I talk to, think along the same line as MrSelfDestruct

From what I've seen, the only anti-Canadian sentiment on the news has been the Bush administration at the beginning of the war whining that every country doesn't automatically agree with what Bush wants to do.

With my friends, who know I have relatives from Canada, the 'sibling' reference is about as acurate as you can get.

Actually I have heard more anti- American rhetoric coming from the Great white north than vice-versa. I have always thought of Canada as a great neighbor. But lately it seems as though it is the in thing to do, to bash America, not only from Canada but worldwide.

As a Canadian all i have to say, is just because our government says we will not / or do not support the war doesn't mean the people do not support it, i personally FULLY support EVERYTHING thats going on. So PLEASE do not judge us us by what our politicians say or do.

Not anti-Canadian, just anti-French
