Pics from the Grand Canyon (B&W)

Just some pics I snapped on my Pentax this summer. Thought they came out alright.

			My personal favorites are the ones with the trees. You'll see which ones I mean. They all have some trees but these two have the tree as the focal point. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tell me what you think, KTHX.

actually due to the slight haze in the air you couldnt really capture the color of everything so well. the black and white kind of cut through the haze and salvaged some contrast.

with the proper light/cleanliness of air those pics could have been stunning in color, i bet.

i had them set at 100x speed, i dont really remember why. maybe because i'm clumsy and cant hold still for a while.

I dont remember the rest of the specs but i think that a 3 1/2 filter was used developing. not sure though because unfortunately i didnt do them myself (usually do but didnt have the time in this particular situation).

These are just stunning, thanks. I'll never forget our trip to the Grand Canyon a couple years ago. What immediately hits you is the immensity and the color, but with your black-and-whites, you make a strong case for the primacy of the raw beauty of its topography. Thanks for exposing it.

I assume those were all taken along the South Rim, correct? I can see Indian Gardens in a couple of the shots so I know at least some of them were. Where along the rim did you find that wonderfull withered old tree. I've walked most of the area near the visitors center on the South Rim and never come across that. I do know of a similar tree on the North Rim not far from the parking lot but it's not quite so twisted =)
