Some Williamsburg Pics from the Weekend

I had previously posted two of these in B&W but went back and took them in color today. Let me know what you think.

Wren Building at The College of William and Mary

Wren Bldg again...

Bridge at The College

A tree that was too good to pass up...

The first bridge pictures is amazing. I just love the reflection in the water.

Oh and nice picture of the tree though would have been nice if you could of cut the cars out.

The first two pictures that you also did in black and white look like completely different pictures! I think the first one was much more captiving in black and white, while the brick pattern in the second is really hard to notice when not in color. Thanks for showing the other side!

I love the composition of the very first one. Excellent. The sidewalk leads your eye into the center of the shot and the building. A lot of photographers would have passed on that shot because of the tree as it obstructs part of the building but it adds so much, at least to me. Great work.

Also really like the first bridge pic with the reflection in the water. Again, that is excellent work. Keep it up.

Out of curiousity, were these shot on film or digital?

Thanks amonkie, I tend to agree with you that the first one does look a lot beter in b&w, as for the second its a toss up to me, I think they both look amazing.

Seymour,
Its funny you talk about passing this shot up. I did. I have walked by that door about 10 times before I stopped to really look at it. Its actually a door that is kind of lost on the side of a huge building, if you were to see the rest of the picutre it would make more sense. Its a really big building and that is like the service entrance or something.

The pictures above are digital but the ones I took in b&w are taken on film.

Here is my previous post with the b&w

very nice composition in the first two. Can you go into PhotoShop or something similar and punch up the contrast a little? That would bring the texture out nicely.
