Yes, the 10D is very clean at iso 800, beyond that it breaks up pretty bad. Did you shoot these in RAW?

abel 10-24-2004 06:10 PM

yeah i shot them in RAW... thats the only way i will go now. i love the flexibility it gives me in post processing....

bad thing is i have to post process almost ever image... but it has saved many shots from being complete trash... hehe

its a trade off

i like the new 20d since it is SO clean at iso1600 its amazing!

That light is amazing! I feel many hours of practice coming on.

I've been thinking about picking up a 10D, what would you recommend as additional equipment and lenses to get pics like that?

abel 11-04-2004 08:27 PM

first i would prolly suggest a 20d for concert photography simply because it is so much cleaner at isos 400 - 3200 and concert shots would come out much better..

my 50 f1.4 lens ran like $300, u can get a 50 f1.8 for about $70 brand new... i pefer the f1.4 version becuase i like how it handles. i think it focuses a bit quicker and has a smoother bokeh (means the blur from the foreground to the background is smoother)

i wish i had a 20d for that iso feature plus it has a much larger buffer which will allow u to shoot a lot more in a short period of time. u dont have to sit and wait for the 10d to save images etc... hehe <-- that bugs me!
