These few a few of the photos from my hiking trip in Oregon last week.

I noticed some flakiness when previewing this post. There's a bunch more pictures at oregon_trip Photo Gallery by David Wootton at pbase.com |
That view of the coast from Neahkahnie is one of my favorite vistas in the entire state. Taking pictures from even the viewpoints along 101 there makes me feel like a great photographer, when really it's just that the subject is so stunning.
Thanks for sharing these and the photos in your gallery with us. It's neat to see my adopted home state through someone else's eyes. You definitely hit a lot of the highlights, and managed to see two of the reasons I would prefer to never leave Oregon: the coast and the mountains. |
Nice shots, thanks. Used to commute past that Neah-Kah-Nie vista when I was living in Astoria and working in Tillamook. Should be driving by it tomorrow sometime when I go check on my rental house.

Wow. these are absolutely stunning.. partly because you have both forest, mountains, and ocean so seamlessly tied together.

beautiful. Thanks! I have to put this area on my list.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. Great pics of what looks like an amazing hike. We just don't get scenery like that here in WNY.

Great pics, that lighthouse makes me feel a little homesick.
I wish I could get out to Oregon a little more often, I've always loved going there, its one of my favorite places to visit on the west Coast. The coast line is just spectacular. |
The last picture has a view of the beach I spent Sunday afternoon on :)

Thanks everybody. Maybe it's because I've lived in eastern NY for 30 years and am so used to the sights around here, but there was a lot more to see on my hikes than there is here. There's certainly not the variety from ocean to waterfalls and big mountain peaks and even snow that I saw on my hike. I've made a dozen or so trips to California and probably have spent a year there, since I liked it so much and the Oregon trip beat that for scenery.
