TFP Communi-Blog!
1 Attachment(s)
Ok folks, here it is. This is where we as a community can do a little bit to become more engaged in each other's lives. This will be our own little blog section of the world. While this will not take away from the threads that already exist in this same sense (World Through My Phone, Pic A Day threads), it is in the similar vein. This is where we can all post a picture a day (at least one) in order to see what we as a community deal with on a daily basis. The outline for this thread is as follows.
First ---- it doesn't necessarily have to be a picture you. It can be anything interesting that you came across that day. Same TFP rules apply.. no kids or sick shit. While it is nice to see pictures of actual people and it is encouraged, this will allow us to post things we find on the internet or around town that really speak to how we feel that day. So you can post that funny sign down the road in your town or you can post yourself in your work environment or whatever. Just keep it smart.. and keep it within the rules. Second --- try to post at least one picture each day. This will ensure that we keep a daily photo blog and our community can grow daily. Naturally this will create one big ass thread, but.. seriously, who gives a fuck how big it is? Third --- keep photo sizes reasonable. While we all have monitors the size of a small bedroom, there's no reason to fill the whole screen with one shot. If you have several shots, use a thumbnail set and hotlink to the bigger pictures. Fourth --- this isn't for exhibition. Those pictures still go to the designated forum. Fifth --- Comment and give constructive criticism if and only if the poster wants it. That would mean use some sort of actual lingo and skill instead of .. "That pic sucks.. you should practice more". So let's open up a bit and see how interesting.. or in my case.. how boring our lives as a community are! My contribution for today.. Attachment 16966 |

Reminds me of the old joke with the "the meaning of life is pussy, now get the fuck off my mountain!" punchline. Here's shot I took a couple days before Christmas while out walking my dogs- http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2232/...74c0e9.jpg?v=0 |

I did a google image search for the word neutral and this is what I came up with...it just fits best. Today, I feel neutral...or, perhaps it's just too early for a point of view. But I kind of like it. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ia/Neutral.jpg |

This photo was probably taken in the early 20th, if not 19th century... of a traditional Icelandic house in the western area of Reykjavík (Vesturbær), which is the semi-suburban neighborhood where ktspktsp and I currently live. I am probably related to the woman in the photo, in one way or another. So here I am, sitting at home, watching the snow fall outside the window of our own 70 year old apartment. The only credit I can find on the website is for a guy named Gísli Ólafur. |

Indeed MM - he looks very sweet.
I envy you guys - I've always wanted a dog but was never able to adopt one and now that I can, my schedule won't all for it. :( |

today of the 4 or more of us in the house 3 of us are in various modalities of the hangover. i wanted to take a picture of the hangovers themselves and not the people who have them. after experimenting with many approaches, i momentarily settled my stomach and chose this one:

Today is the Boo's birthday. She is 9. This is what she has decided she wants to do to celebrate. Although we are certain not to look so adorable. Love those little skating outfits...I wish I lived in the days of little outfits. :p I hope I don't break something...although, I am bringing my camera. Maybe I can get away with just documenting the event. |
it was delicious until about an hour later when my stomach rejected something. :)

______________________________________________________________ So after days of being pulled to several friends who NEED this fixed or that looked at I decided to take a day and head into Merida. Merida is a beautiful city with some amazing architecture. Several churches date to the early 1500's and were built using stone from the local Mayan pyramids. I thought I'd see about snapping some shots to post here. As I left I notice a hint of gray on the far off horizon. I made it about 10mins into a 30min trek and the sky let loose like God himself (or her, your pick) opened a valve. He must have also turned on a fan as the wind suddenly made driving more then a mere simple task. So I headed back to the beach, passing several accidents along the way. No serious injuries noted, fender benders and unhappy wet people exchanging words and insurance info. After shuttering the house I had a bite of lunch. The rain stopped and I walked down to the beach for these quick shots: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3068/...126c4a.jpg?v=0 Every morning around 0200 fishermen ride their bikes down to these boat and row out for the days catch. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2012/...08329c.jpg?v=0 Coconuts liter the ground around this tree. For some reason they are extremely bitter. Easy to obtain, taste like shit. Funny how life works sometimes. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2089/...e93732.jpg?v=0 Immediately after this shot the sky opened again and I headed home. Just another shitty day in paradise. |

Thanks for the story and the pictures, Tully. I want to see and hear more about your life in paradise. Shitty and otherwise. :p ****************************************** Today I go to Megacon in an attempt to photograph freaks, geeks and other assorted nerds. Such as these folks: http://www.megaconvention.com/images/clips2007/6.jpg I hear that folks' are very eager to have their pictures taken, which is good, as I is too shy to ask most of the time. Maybe this will help me get past that hesitancy. At any rate, I am going with all three of my kids, so I am looking forward to being with all of them...that rarely happens these days. |

These shots are a few of the more tame ones I took: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2135/...ef41f5.jpg?v=0 A group of friends from Ohio. They all worked at the same insurance company. I gave serious consideration to switching my insurance after a couple drinks with them. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2031/...11113b.jpg?v=0 Never really spoke with this couple, but as I walked by the lady said "Is your camera full or did you want a picture?" Had she not spoke up I wouldn't have even noticed her. I was in hot pursuit of a place to leave some rented beer. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3199/...4e87cf.jpg?v=0 One of my favorites. She was working at a tourist crap, err, I mean trap. And for the record...yes, I did. And my all time favorite... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3225/...1e5fb7.jpg?v=0 Down towards Mallory Square I found out we're all going to hell. Of course salvation can still be had if you join with them and renounce your sinful ways. Unless your gay, then you're just screwed. |
