Photo Assignment 09 June 2006 - DOORS

So last weeks, didn't inspire too many people - let's see if this weeks is a little more inspiring...

Here is your next photo assignment, should you choose to accept it.

Doors

but let's expand that to any type of entrance...

As suggested by Chamaeleontidae

The Guidelines:

Pictures
**How you interpret the theme is entirely up to you.
**Pics should be taken during the assignment period not just yanked out of your portfolio.
**Pics should be 800*600 pixels My Windows XP photoresizer tutorial: http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showpos...1&postcount=11
**We're looking for natural images. Some post processing is ok (colour correction, redeye reduction, contrast etc), but no gross manipulation, on occasion we will have an assignment that calls for differing kinds of manipulation. However, for the most part, think "natural."
**Give your photo a title, it just sounds cooler that way.
**Remember the basic rules of Tilted Photography and the TFP: http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?t=46601

Comments

**Comments have to (and this part is critical) have substance. -----That is to say; "That foto r0xxor!!," just ain't gonna cut it.
Think more along the lines of:
-----That photo would be better if....
-----That subject's eyes would be better lit if you did....
**Comments should have a constructive edge to them, we're trying to improve here not just stroke each other's egos (but do be nice).
**Please comment on as many photos as you can, prefereably every one. No one likes to feel left out.
**After making your comment please make suggestions for next week's assignment. I will take all the suggestions and select one randomly and/or at the suggestion of the community.

**My overiding vision for this game/exersize/whetever, is to improve our skills as photographers. Regardless of your skill or ability we want everyone to contribute.**
**This is an experiement, the processes and guidelines are up for debate**

PLEASE DON"T FORGET TO ADD IN YOUR SUGGESTION FOR NEXT WEEK'S ASSIGNMENT...
Thanks
Marq's standin

Have fun

I still have a door to shoot, but with the expanded topic of "entrace", hungry little mouths came to mind... Here are some Robin (I believe) chicks, living in a shrub at my house...

nice interpretation.... sweet birdies... hungry birdies... :)

This tiny 'door' was on the bottom of a smokestack at the abandoned Michelin Rubber Co. complex. I love how those vines grew right into the brickwork to frame it.

Next week: public transit

This isn't great photography (because I'm not a great photographer), but this is a shot of our back door, through lurkette's office door, through my office door. You can see also the left edge of our refrigerator, which is wedged into a former door in our kitchen, and the left edge of the glass-paneled door on my office closet.

oooo a peek at the lurkbastid lair!

Looks cool. I like the green in the room at the back of the picture.

and as for the photo, I like the door within a door idea.

Walking through Mt.Hope cemetary, I spotted a mauseleum with the old stained glass removed. Well, it was either removed just to preserve it, or it was slolen, or, just busted. It had been replaced with plexi, and this is the view through to the front.

As an added bonus, you get to see mrs. joe peeking back at you.......

I tried multiple doors and entrances, but I can't get the lighting right. I'm going to keep experimenting. Here is a bird house entrance, and I think the B&W is the better of the two.
