Since I've started writing whatever I manage to remember from my dreams down, I noticed a very distinct and undeniable pattern - every dream had something to do with the things bugging me at that time.

I assume you dream the same way, about things that have been a concern for you lately. So you are somehow concerned about a car crash in real life. Thats all I can really tell you... Be careful on the road, to make sure it doesn't turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy ![]() The latest dream that freaked me out was today actually, where I became a skinhead neo-nazi vampire with an umbrella that I poked people with. That goes against everything I stand for! I mean, who pokes people with an UMBRELLA? (not to mention that I am Jewish) I despise nazis, but I don't mind umbrellas or vampires, and I shave my head too... freaky ![]()

The only dreams I have that freak me out have to do with alien invasions. I seem to have one or two a year and they are not at all similar, but the common theme is huge space ships appearing overhead and lots of explosions and stuff. I'm sure I have them because I had just watched some sci-fi movie. Still, because they seem so real they are really freaky.

I agree with Nefir, although it's not always a literal connection.

The recurring car crash dream may have to do with a metaphorical crash -- you may feel like some part of your life is out of control, a relationship, work, school, life in general, and is headed for some sort of catastrophic breakdown. I don't mean that the dream is a focused prediction, just that it's a manifestation of some subtle fear/concern/uncertainty somewhere inside your head. |

I have a few re-occurring dreams/nightmares, not the common one when your falling, but real freaky shit! Kind of like being a skinhead neo-nazi vampire with an umbrella poking people.

One in particular seems to be the product of me stressed out. I only get it two or three times a year. I can’t explain it. Unlike other dreams, this one is always the same. It’s weird what our subconscious congers up. |

When I was younger and would get really sick, I would always have this reocurring dream. I can't explain it at all, I think it's ore the feeling that I remember rather than the actions that took place. It was extremely terrifying, always the same, and I always woke up at the same part. To this day it still freaks me out.

Spire, that dream sounds fucking crazy. When I was a kid, i had this one dream twice, where i was in bed and i would hear a clock tower strike midnight, but in an eery, distorted fashion. Then i'd hear a howl, and these dogs (my next door neighbors dogs) would jump through my window (second story), but it was all like in a sort of "bullet-time" time distortion, and I'd know they were going to attack me (they never got to that point in my dream), so i would wake myself up right when they got there. It scared me alot at the time. One dream that sticks with me alot was one i had two summers ago. It started at like some sort of whacecked Disneyland/Boy Scout Camp/Gameshow Scenario. It started out like some sort of race, and everyone was in boyscout uniforms. There was a tarin like the disneyland one sort of, and i took us through and arctic setting for the race. Then out of nowhere (possibly parts i forgot) we end up on a very hot dry (yet still tropical) island. I could vividly remember this part of the dream, as it was the part that scared me. I remember gazing at the islands scenery for a short while, and then hearing a startling sound from the sky (i would describe it as a failing jet engine, followed by a crash). I look up into the bright (scorching) sky to see an Sr-71 in a sort of nose-up stall postion. I see another jet (hornet? maybe) as if it had attacked the Sr-71 (unlikely scenario), there was blake smoke from the stalling sr-71. I remember yelling "get out of here" or something to that extent, but it was to late, and everything turned red and it was like a nuclear explosin, then i wake up.

What are car crashes? They are usually soemthing that occurs that is out of your control yet have devastating concequences. Could it be that yoy're afraid of the uncontrollable? Perhaps...

hey it might be......not sure. i'd like to think that i'm in control......but like you say, most crashes are uncontrollable. i don't get why car crashes are the focus. why not a train wreck....or airplane crash.... confused???? |

Probably because you and your family are in the car every day. It's a constant in your lives, whereas the other things aren't.

Freakin dangerous driving now too, lunatics around every bend in the road. You always need to be on your guard! |

I rarely remember my dreams. The ones I do remember are usually related to something that just happened, is expected to happen or from a book I have just been reading.
