Where Do You Look?

I've noticed that many of the bands that are named, are usually underground or only local known, and yet they seem to get around.
I want to know where everyone looks or how they find out about the non-mainstream groups that everyone seems to find.
since I don't have cable and don't watch much t.v. I mostly look to many musical forums for my choices in music, I look for groups or songs that were mentioned more then once and that seem to describe to my appeal in music.
I'm not big on mainstream music, it usually doesn't appeal to me too much, and I always like finding something new that not everyone knows about.
and so now I want to know where you guys and gals find your unknown underground artists too.
