Bright Eyes
 

OK so yeah I'm lazy, but I wanna see other people's thoughts too. My brother knows I'm fevering over the new HHH album in april and haven't looked for much else. He sent an album the other day by a band called "Bright Eyes" and I gotta say, this is one of the best I heard in ages. Somewhere between Beck and Belle and Sebastian would be the best way to describe it, but its still not well defined.

Anyone else know of em or heard em?

One of my early votes for "Best Damned Album of the Year". Still early tho, and Hot Hot Heat is in 1 month and 1 day.

Which album did you listen to? From what I've heard so far, all of his/their albums sound quite different from each other.

There was a thread about Conor like a week or two ago wherein i explain how big of a creep the cat is. People 'round here dig the search function.

That was kinda rude, but thank you. I liked to think I was one of the "people round here", but I missed that post. Most likely due to the fact I never heard of them today. I'll refrain from posting thoughts here in the future without a thorough background check.

Man, i'm one of the few who I know that CAN'T STAND Bright Eyes.
Just something about it, I'd rather listen to some horrible band opposed to Bright Eyes. Something just horribly bothers me about it.

I wouldn't say album of the year too soon. There is still Mars Volta - Frances the Mute to come out. Which is a wicked album.

Or even System of a Down's new album, Rick Ruban produced both.

My thing is just I been looking for a good downtempo chill group for awhile. And I said early vote, HHH still has their gig soon enough. Thats the big one this year for me. If the single released from it is any indicator, it's far and away gonna be my fave.

My "relationship" with Bright Eyes is that I can make a mix cd of select songs from all his cds to make one really good cd. Some of the songs I have to skip past. Its very hit or miss, IMO.

Pretty much my thoughts. Although, I don't have to skip songs too often on Lifted.

I don't think it's a few, fwiw. It's very easy for me, a fan and owner of two albums, to see why someone would absolutely hate Bright Eyes. He's a whiny, melodramatic bitch who constantly sounds like he's crying or just finished crying. :)

If I want to listen to crying lyrics i'd just pop in my Xiu Xiu cd. It's not that I don't like the genre, its just the guy.
