Who is due for a new album?
Sometimes you hear a band on the radio and say, "Man, that band hasn't had a new album out for awhile!"
Who do you think is due? For me: Tool Foo Fighters Doves Sigur Ros Godspeed You! Black Emperor Brendan Perry |
I say Third Eye Blind, and I hope their next album goes more back to the style of "Blue" than "Out of the Vein", which I thought was their weakest effort to date.
|
The Stone Temple Pilots.
The Dismemberment Plan. ...oh well. We're stuck with the uninteresting results of Travistan and Contraband instead. I'd like Tom Petty to take another try at regaining his past glory, also. Something along the lines of Wildflowers 2 would be wonderful. |
54-40, I Go Blind was one of my favourite songs (ahem, Hootie and the Blowfish *covered* this tune), and the band's last album was in 2003.
They need another album. And another tour. That comes to my city. And let's me get drunk to loud music. |
Nine Inch Nails
Clapton (I know he said he's done) Rush Garth Brooks |
Audioslave has an album scheduled for June.
|
Portishead is way overdue! Last one came out in '97, but I guess they are making a new one.
|
Pharoahe Monch
The Verve Pipe Silverchair (hasn't been that long but after hearing Diorama I can't wait to see what they come up with next...what a hard album to follow up..hope I'm not dissappointed) Steve Perry (I just wonder if he still gots it, sure he does) I'd really love it if Pink Floyd just up and decided to make another album...they said Division Bell was the last studio album but..eh...wishful thinking Bush - It's been a few years since I've heard from Gavin and the guys think the last album Golden State was in 2000 or 2002 not sure. Eh I'm sure theres more I'd like to hear from but I just can't think right now. Asta!! |
The Flaming Lips
Son Volt (already finished recording the new one, I believe) |
Schubert. Hey, I can dream.
Paul Oakenfold - Bunkka (his last album, 2002) was fantastic, and I've been waiting for the touring to finish so he can get back to working in the studio. Southern Sun is still one of my favorites. DJ Tiësto - Nyana (2003) was brilliant. Again, touring and too busy to compose for now. Propellerheads - Decksandrumsandrockandroll (1998) was a real breakthrough. Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers tried to make a sound like Propellerheads made, but they fell short. I'll think of a few later. |
PINK FLOYD!!!
But, since that isn't very likely to happen how about a Roger Waters solo album (it is coming). Or maybe Dry Kill Logic. Propellerheads is another good one. Vanilla Ice hasn't had anything new in a couple of years (and NO I'm not joking--check out his newer stuff). Dave Matthews Band? When was the last Bad Religion album? That's all I can think of right now. |
Alice in Chains , since they havent broken up technically
most everyone else i listen to has had a 2002,3 or 4 album or they are dead :/ |
Opeth!

Also, she had what I think was a second big hit with "Fast As You Can". Good song, either way. |
Marilyn Manson
Mr. Bungle (prob ain't gonna happen) Tomahawk Guns N' Roses (the real GNR, not the sideshow Axl has ;)) |
My dream list:
Carcass Faith No More (with Jim Martin) Mr Bungle More likely: Flotsam and Jetsam Deftones Slayer Down Metallica |
How about.....
Sublime ... oh wait the singer songwriter is dead Nirvana ... oops Kurt shot himself Johnny Cash... dead too Tu Pac got shot PINK FLOYD... oh wait Roger is an asshole... and David Gilmores stuff is not true Floydian Ohh I know I know... Michael Jackson.... in a year or so he can do one called Jailbait!! |

As for myself, probably Tool and the FLaming Lips. Also Neutral Milk Hotel - if Jeff Mangum is still working on that project. although i am looking forward to the new Broken Social Scene album :) |
The only two I really care about right now are Tool and Opeth -- both are working on new material as I type this!
|

Howsabout a new Rocket From The Crypt?
|
|
Staind is almost done with their new stuff... I believe the record is supposed to be out within the next few months. I believe it's down to finishing touches with the lyrics and then mixing.
Pearl Jam is slated to work on material for an album sometime this year as well. Not sure if they've already started or what. Limp Bizkit got Wes Borland back... they were jamming in the studio last I heard but who knows. |
Hmm thats cool that they got Wes back..I feel a little mean saying it but he's the only REAL talent in the band..him and maybe Lethal. Dunno bout the bassist and drummer though..not familiar with those instruments..okay I don't think Fred has much talent haha. Hope this one sounds more like 3 dollah bills.
Asta!! |
whos says zack delarocha pulls his shit together and calls rage against the machine back in the studio.
apparantly hes conveyed all he can with music, but i mean shit. it was amazing. tom morello? amazing. i think its definately time for another rage album. |
Actually it's about damn time for this Zack De La Rocha solo album I've been hearing about for years that supposedly has some tracks produced by El P. That hasn't come out yet has it?
Asta!! |
I'm gonna be the third person in this thread to say tool. They are WAY overdue for a new album, last I heard they were in the studio.
I also have to say John Petrucci of Dream Theater is years overdue on his first solo album, let alone a new one. |
Floater needs to put out a new electric album. They put out an acoustic album this summer but it's not the same...and we haven't had any new electric material from them since 2002's "Alter." At the show I went to last night they played a new song that sounded freakin' awesome, so I look forward to anything they may produce in the--hopefully--near future.
An aside for those outside of the PacNW: Floater is a fairly popular PacNW band headquartered in Portland, OR. They play shows around the PacNW on a regular basis. If you like hard rock...you should check them out, especially live. |

Bob Dylan! There was talk of a compilation album and some new songs and/or a totally new album. Since he's starting up a new tour soon, I hope he's already recorded everything and it will be out soon...

Let's also add.... - Guns N Roses. Chinese Democracy plz. I know it will never be the same ol G'n'f'n'R that we knew and loved, but some of the songs off the new CD sound amazing (Madagascar, anyone?) - AC/DC. Not that I like their music too much (repetition, who?), but I'd love to see em on tour again. |

Alice Cooper Rob Zombie |
yeah.. flaming lips should have some new stuff soon...of course I would also like them to get that movie out the door....:P
|
In response to the first post of thread.
The lead guy from Foo Fighters, forgot his name, released an album as the drummer for Probot featuring plenty of old classic metal guys. |
The Postal Service
Third Eye Blind...but not just another new album, another one like their self-titled. No Doubt...Once again, a band I'd like to see go back to their older style, circa Tragic Kingdom. |
rumour mill has it josh homme makes an appearance on the new tool album (whenever that will be)
|
Hmm...
Let's see. BÖC just had one a couple years back. Not that they couldn't stand to put out another one with the awesome new rhythm section they have. King Crimson may or may not have put out a new one lately. If they did, I need to hear about it. If not, they need to. Same deal with Cake. Last one I've seen was Pressure Chief, which was OK, but didn't have the punch that the four prior to it did. I miss Frank Zappa so much. |
TV on the Radio, they need to put another out. I haven't heard anything new from them or any news for that matter. I can see them being one of those bands that put out an epic album and just calls it quits.
