MIX CD GAME!
Okay, so I'm really fuckin bored of my music.
Here's how we play the game: I start out posting a genre Somebody posts a good song suggestion(Artist- Album- Song Title) of that genre. Then they post another genre and the process repeats. We'll do this for 20 songs, and then if I'm happy with the CD, we'll start it over. Please, let's try to keep mainstream(top 40 shit) off this. I want some obscure shit that I can still find on the internets fairly easily. So let's start this shit off, shall we? Emo |
Bright Eyes - Don't Know When But a Day's Gonna Come
It's kinda like Bob Dylan reverted to being a whiny 12-year-old. In other words, it's quite good. |
Thanks.
But you're supposed to post another genre. |
Sorry, my reading comprehension must've been switched off.
Folk rock. |

Kind of progressive and anthemic for folk-rock, but it's on a folk-rock album by a folk-rock artist so :p How about Acid Jazz? |
Galactic - Black Eyed Pea (the album is Late for the Future)
how about... Progressive Rock? (probably should avoid 20min+ pieces, though...) |
Tool - The Patient - Lateralus
Very progressive heavy rock. Classic Rock |
Led Zepplin- Fool In The Rain (best song evar!)
Drum and Bass |
Cubic - Calyx
Industrial |
Ministry - Jesus Built My Hotrod
classical (orchestral) |
Igor Stravinsky's arrangement of "The Star-Spangled Banner," which was banned in Boston in 1941. Very worth hearing.
a cappella |
I dont think anyone knows of a cappella song...

Metal |
"Creeping Death" by Metallica
New Wave |
surely we can do better than Don't Worry Be Happy for a cappella... not that it's a bad song, mind you, but who in the world hasn't already heard it?
admittedly, i don't know much in that area myself (DaVinci's Notebook if you're into comedy a capella), but i'm just sayin'... if sadistik is hoping to find new music with this thread, we have to come up with something else... |
for New Wave: Come on Eileen by Dexy's Midnight Runner
Math Rock |
"Naughty Number Nine", written by Bob Dorough, sung by Grady Tate for Schoolhouse Rock.
Punk rock. P.S. Lyrics from Naughty Number Nine: "Now the first thing to keep in mind, When you're multiplying by nine Is that it's one less than ten. You see, nine is the same as ten minus one. So you could multiply your number by ten And then subtract the number from the result, And you'd get the same product as if you'd multiplied by nine, And you knew it." Actually...I didn't know it. Wow, I feel stupid! |
For an obscure a'capella, try 'Caravan of Love' by The Housemartins (UK).
Punk rock....'I'm Stranded' by The Saints (Aus) Trip hop....(something from Portishead would be nice....) |
ok.
Portishead "Mysterons" from Live roseland NYC Next up: 2nd Wave Ska |
Bummer.
No one got any 2nd wave ska? |
