Is anybody else a fan of the swedish melodic death metallers? i love the whole gothenburg scene and i think very few bands can switch from a male singer to a female and keep all thier fans
ps. to anyone else who likes them, am i the only one who has a crush on Angela Gossow? ;) :lol:

i'm kinda turned off by both their singers (aurally anyway), but dig the music. from that genre, i prefer the vocals of in flames and opeth.

I like 'em. Personally, I think it's nice that they have a female vocalist who can growl like a beast. It helps them stand out in the gothenburg scene. and yes, I think Angela's hot too.

They were way better before the vocals changed..the shows seem lackluster now as well.There are way better female vocalists out there. To be honest, I don't know why they went with Glassgow. I agree with mercury-hg, In-Flames has way better vocals...

they are good,but i don't like the vocals very much.i think in flames are much better

They're like the Winger of death metal.

I really like the song 'enemy within'. Always get an interesting response from non-metal fans when I inform them that the singer is female.

I love Angela Gossow.

They're a good band, haven't listend to their earlier stuff but I'll get around to it eventually. What other bands have a similar female vocals lead?

i cant name any for you cause ive never heard any others, Holy Moses has a kinda similar singer, but they're mostly thrash

I think they peaked with "Wages of Sin". I wasn't a fan of their album after that, but it did contain some incredible musicianship and some very inventive riffage. Gotta respect that.

I enjoy them, you can definitely hear the late-era Carcass influence in their sound.

Yeah, same as aKula, I've got many strange responses after playing through 'Wages of Sin' and telling people it's a female singer. I didn't even realise it myself until halfway through watching one of their video clips, when I got up (in a drunken state) and screamed "OMFG!!11!1 He's got teh B00behs!!!1!1@". Needless to say, the crowd I was with didn't seem too impressed.
