How could I ever forget 3 great ones:
Sanford and Son Newhart Wings (the sitcom) |
You have all forgotten the king:

Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but best TV theme shows were from 80's action shows-
Knight Rider A-Team Dukes of Hazzard Great American Hero honorable mention- LA Law Miami Vice |
props to sanford and son. stevie wonder's harp and quincy jones producing, that jam is where it is at.
the theme to S.W.A.T was wicked cool too. and of course, the oscar winning theme to shaft. The Mary Tyler Moore Show theme is an awesome song. Bob Mould of Husker Du covered it brilliantly. We used to play it in a band I was in sometimes as an encore and everyone would leave the bar singing "you're gonna make it after all." |
I'd have to second that - Hong Kong Phooey.
|
The original, instrumental theme for the show "Monk" is the best.
They changed it after the first season to a stupid song by Randy Newman. You can still hear the original theme song over the show's closing credits, though. |
what about the theme to renegade
it's pretty funny because there is a voiceover explaining how Lorenzo Lamas cycled his way into outlaw-hood |
Talking funny themes what about Lee Majors singing the "Fall Guy" theme. Now that was classic.
"I ain't one to kiss and tell But I been seen with Farrah.........." |

Also, the theme they played before Bugs Bunny, etc. cartoons. |
Bah! you call those songs...
Tank! - from Cowboy Bebop |
007
|
I like the theme from "Barney Miller". I wish there was a longer version, but unfortunately the 48-second TV series theme was all Jack Elliot and Allyn Ferguson wrote.
|
TV: NFL Primetime, they should release a CD with the music from the show. I would actually go out and spend $20 on it.
Video Game: Tecmo Super Bowl Movie: Mission Impossible |
The Riven theme is cool.
|
Car Wash... from the movie Car Wash.

For TV shows, it's a toss up between Beavis and Butthead and Batman (the 90s animated series... best when actually seeing the opening sequence; the music just flowed with the pictures so well).
For video games, Monkey Island 1 & 2 get my vote. |
The Adventures of Pete and Pete
Futurama Megas XLR Mighty Morphin Power Rangers |
if i had a show i'd make Opeth's "Black Rose Immortal" the theme song.
Then just have 2 minutes of filler, possibly old ads, for a show. |
Cowboy Bebop (the Seat Belts - Tank)
Family Guy Angel X-Files |
King of the Hill
Pinky and the Brain Magnum PI Hunter |
