Best live album
Hands down it has to be
Jimi Hendrix - Live At The Fillmore East |
Bob Dylan Live 1966
Entreat - The Cure
All Time Greatest Live Album would most definitely have to be The Who's Live At Leeds. Without Question. Without Doubt.
Ozzy Osbourne - Live and Loud
Pink Floyd - PULSE
Rush - Exit Stage Left
tied with Nine Inch Nails - And All That Could Have Been...Live |
The Band- "The Last Waltz" EXCELLENT live concert video too; Scorsese directed, won 3 academy awards 1976
Johnny Cash - Live at Folsom Prison
i am surprised no one said Allman Brothers Band Live At Fillmore East yet.
Lynyrd Skynyrd- One more from the road
Two possible directions here: recording quality, or jam quality.
For recording quality, Michael Hedges' "Live From the Double Planet." I was at one of the concerts where many of the cuts were taped, so I can attest to the unGodly mountains of high-end equipment that were used. For jam quality, "Concert for Bangladesh." |
Lots of the above choices and Cheap Trick- Live at Budakon ( sorry- I can never pick just one!)
My favorite is Nirvana - MTV Unplugged in New York but then again i dont have too many live albums.
Bob Dylan - Live 1966 <- This is the best, all hands down.
PF Pulse does it for me.
In Flames - Live at Koln '96 bootleg
The Roots - The Roots Come Alive
KISS alive- PINK FLOYD
Cheap Trick at Budokan
dave matthews band-live at red rocks

Hard to think of just one live recording but I'd say Led Zeppelin Live at the LA Forum in 1977 with Keith Moon doing a cameo on Whole Lotta Love and Rock and Roll. no nononononononoooobody's fault....
Nine Inch Nails - And All That Could Have Been...
Sublime - Stand by Your Van
Nirvana - Unplugged in New York Most of the other good ones have already been mentioned |
what are you guys kidding me
metallica-sm |
Personal favorites -
Metallica: Live Sh*t: Binge & Purge and S&M were both great. Iron Maiden's Live After Death was excellent too. Go back a bit for Judas Priest's Unleashed In The East. |
Salival is fantastic.
Though I really like O.A.R.'S Any Time Now too. |

Yeah same... That was a great CD ans still is great now |
The Ramones' It's Alive, recorded in London in 1977 (I think). Twenty-eight classics in about forty-five minutes. Great stuff.
Ben Harper - Live From Mars
Deep Purple - Live in Japan
Metallica - Live, Shit, Binge, Purge
