Try having kids.

All day I've had a Wiggles tune stuck in my head;

Here comes a bear
Stomping...stomping
A very scary bear
Stomping...stomping.

Try gettin' any work done with that in your head.

I usually suffer from Last Song Syndrome, so whatever was last playing on the radio or (preferably) my iPod when driving to work will continue to play in my head the rest of the day. At the moment, however, the_wall has put that stupid Darkness song into my head. I will haunt him for that.

I also remember, back in junior high school, having to take my final exam in English with the entire score of 1776 running through my head.

Friends and I used to mess with each other seeing who could stick a song in the others head.

I never lost with Copacabana

i find that getting into an enclosed space (thats as sound-proof as possible) and really belting the offending song out cures me of my Last Song Syndrome.

I was just in a play, the musical of death as I like to call it, and every day while it was going on I would wake up and go to sleep thinking of the same awful songs from it. Show tunes are the worst to get stuck in your head.

The one that's stuck in my head is that stupid Quiznos commercial with the creatures. I don't even know what they say, but I go around all day making the noises. Very annoying!

I read an article recently about this... A researcher called this experience "earworms"... or little songs that get in your head and wont leave... In the 559 students that were studied some common songs were the Chilis jingle for baby-back ribs and "Who let the Dogs Out."

And the milkshake song is really bad too.

I agree with Redjake here, both's been in my head recently too.

I've had some fun with a friend of mine lately though...I can get almost any fairly common song into his head to the point of him constantly singing it to himself, he he he. He hates me for it, too; I had him singing Boston's "More Than A Feeling" and Boy George's "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?" on his birthday this weekend, and I'm still thinkin' of more songs he'll hate to sing but can/will.

A while back I was sick in bed with bad allergies and tonsilitis, hardly able to swallow any solids let alone my own saliva. So I flip through MTV, and this is around the same time Jewel comes out with her new song/image. I believe it was called "Intuition." Being confined to bed with my weak, aching body, I was desperate for something, ANYTHING that resembled the female body (my gf had the sniffles too ). But the song was just soooo damn annoying, I had to mute it halfway. But the worm managed to drill its way into my brain for 2 whole weeks. Everytime I closed my eyes I heard "Follow your HEAAARRRTT, your intuitioooohn...." I figured if I stay away from top 40 radio or MTV, I can keep away from it. But then they began to use the song in ads for FEMALE frick-in RAZORS called, you guessed it, Intuition. To this day my throat itches a little when a part of that song plays.

OK, I had no idea what the "Ding Fries are Done!" song was, so I googled it and found this:

The worst song I have found so far is the Asshole Song by Dennis Leary, partially because its exactly how I feel like acting when I'm having a really bad day, and because I listen to it before I leave the house to remind me how bad it could be out there (and so I sing it as I walk through 3 foot snow drifts on my way to university 'cause they don't plow the sidewalks when high school is cancelled).

Yes, yes...that would be the one. He goes around singing that ALL THE TIME!

And for some really weird reason, I had "Saturday Night" stuck in my head...by the BAY CITY ROLLERS! What the hell?
