Favorite Beatles song
I've just started listening to the beatles lately and i am just starting to realise how awesome they really were. So my question to everyone is what is your favorite beatles song? I think right now I would have to say Strawberry Fields Forever.

my favorite has always been within you without you. written by george harrison. i tend to like george's songs more for some reason.
lately, i've been getting into eleanor rigsby too. |
God, that's a tough decision. I don't know if i could rule it down to only one. So I'll give you my favorite three in no particular order: Revolution(the faster original version), Hey Jude, and Blackbird.
But then again, I'll probably have a new favorite tomorrow. I love them all! |
Tough choice, probably While my Guitar Gently Weeps. Could change at a moments notice, however.

When I'm Sixty-Four
|
In My Life.

I have no idea why but my favorite Beatles song: "For No One." While I think that Abbey Road and The Beatles (White Album) are greater artistic achievements but I listen to Revolver and Rubber Soul like 50 times more (I think the same applies to Radiohead's Kid A but I listen to The Bends much, much more.) "For No One" is off Revolver. Sorry more information than was requested but when I start talking Beatles I just tend to go off. Sorry

Picking a favorite Beatles song is like asking a grandmother to pick her favorite grandchild, impossible. I love them all.
A few of my favorites are: Don't Let Me Down - Love the way John sings it. Blackbird - So simple But I want "In My Life" played at my funeral. |
Too many to pick from to say one, but off the top:
Fool on the hill A day in the life Lady Maddona Yesterday Get back Ticket to ride the whole second half of Abby Road Like I said, too many to chose from. |

Paperback Writer and For the Benefit of Mr. Kite

Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)

i've got a feeling kicks my ass
one after 909......yup that's good too. |
In My Life.
So simple, but so full of truth. |
Here is my one song. Oh wait, did I say one? I meant five.
Help Nowhere Man Across The Universe And I Love Her We Can Work It Out |
I've got a couple:
Tommorrow Never Knows Flying Norwegian Wood I've Got a Feeling She's a Woman |
Oh, don't make me choose!
In my Life was my first and still is my favorite, followed VERY closely by Norwegian Wood and Here Comes the Sun. For an interesting spin on the Beatles, Check out Esteban's recording of NorwegianWood/Here Comes the Sun. It's a classical guitar twist, awesome to listen to! |
I am not as versed in Beatles' songs as many of you on here so my range of songs is limited. But I am very fond of both "Strawberry Fields Forever," "Eleanor Rigby," and "Ob la di, Ob la da."
|
While my guitar gently weeps
Happiness is a warm gun Let it Be I'm Only Sleeping Too many to chose from! I'll just say those ones for now. |
i am the walrus
|
Probably Blackbird. Wonderful song.
|
TNK as performed by 801. (Tomorrow never knows.)
I really can get going to "And your bird can sing." I like the strange dissonance of "Only a Northern Song". And here you thought Sonic Youth did it first. |
Maxwells Silver Hammer.
It was Come Together before it found its way into car commericals. The Michael Jackson version still cranks though. |
I'd have to go with Revolution, Strawberry Fields Forever and I know it's just John Lennon, but Imagine.
|
In My Life
I was surprised when I bought their "1" cd that this wasn't on there. |
Eleanor Ribgy. Gotta love the instrumentation as much as the lyrics.
|
A Day In The Life. That song is just amazing - it is the perfect song. It broke so much ground too, especially for people's conceived notions of a rock song. If I'm not mistaken, it was the first rock song to use a full orchestra.

Anything from Sgt. Pepper's, or if I had to pick one, Norwegian Wood (I know it's not from Sgt. Pepper's).
|
Revolution
Eleanor Rigby Hey Jude Strawberry Fields |
Probably "Something". The lyrics are so touching. Definitely show the softer more reflective side of the Beatles.
Awesome guitar solo from George Something in the way she moves....... * cant help myself from singing it now* |
"Lovely Rita" is my absolute favorite. It's just a really awesome sounding song with great lyrics.
|
my favorite is We can Work it out, followed by When im Sixty four.
