BEST ALBUM of all time?

Hope this hasn't been done before (did a search, but not sure if I used the right terms).

Here's my pick:

The Beahc Boys - PET SOUNDS

don't post lists, now. You must choose only one!

K-WISE

I finally figured out why you post that pic in threads I start.

No.

That's not me.

This is why I have the name ----------> LINK

Because Brand Nubian is on point. And Foundation is an excellent album. Just not my top album of all time.

Darth_Kettch 10-15-2003 02:47 AM

Best album ever?

Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt. II: Scenes From a Memory, IMO.

eple 10-15-2003 02:53 AM

Turbonegro-Acopalypse Dudes!!!

The Beatles - Revolver

brandon11983 10-15-2003 08:24 AM

nine inch nails - the downward spiral

Jadey 10-15-2003 09:50 AM

Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon

jvwgtr 10-15-2003 11:34 AM

Wow, best of ALL TIME is pretty hard to nail down.
Best of the past couple years?
For me, it's gotta be either Radiohead's Amnesiac or PJ Harvey's Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea.

I know thats not you. Why would Sadat X post here? If you were him I'd say a lot more than a picture. I just think it's cool to see the name of a hip-hop artist on a board such as this one where ya don't see too many. He's dope. Heard he bit Gza though. Gza even made a track about it. Still Brand Nubian are some a the best I've heard. Great group. Now as far as best album of all time....pretty hard choice....maybe if you seperated it into the various genre's like say

Best Hip Hop Album: Wu-Tang Forever
Best Rock Album: .....Nope I can't do it. heheh. You get the point.

Asta!!

Props for getting the reference.

Everyone else who has mentioned my name here thought it referred to someplace called Sada TX, as in Texas. Hmmmm.....

Lebell 10-16-2003 01:30 AM

Well, since you said the best ever:

If you are talking Rock, then I would nominate:

costello 10-16-2003 01:43 AM

i agree with lebell. the compositions of classical artists such as beethoven and mozart musically blow away anything else. maybe it should be narrowed to more modern music.

Blonde on Blonde. This is the best of the best of Dylan and the best album ever. Great everything on this album. It's simply awesome.

WhoaitsZ 10-16-2003 10:45 AM

damn. one to rule them all.....

siamese dream - smashing pumpkins

by genre... metal - And Justice For All.... - Metallica

pop like music - mariah carey's music box. seriously, it's an awesome cd

punkish (not punk per se, but 'i will sound like what i want to sound like) - White Pony by the Deftones

industrial - NIN's pretty hate machine

and for the 'what the hell is it' genre TOOL's Aenima.

tekaweni 10-16-2003 11:13 AM

I agree with Jadey - Pink Floyd, dark side of the moon.

snapcarve 10-16-2003 03:50 PM

Dredg - El Cielo

K-Wise 10-16-2003 04:03 PM

I bought this cd when I was about 14, listened to it all the time. Over the years I stopped listening to it as frequently, but recently dug it out to hear how it sounded now that I'm older, and it rocks more than ever. Since the lyrics aren't in the liner notes, and his voice his hard to decipher, a couple days ago I looked the lyrics up on the internet. Knowing the exact words has breathed fresh life into these songs, making me realize they come from a deeper place than I once imagined.

I'm proud to say I actually own a large portion of the albums people mentioned in this thread, and I will certainly try to find the ones I've never heard before. I like people's taste in music here.

ghezzo 10-16-2003 09:22 PM

Tool - Lateralus

bundy 10-16-2003 10:08 PM

Not a very well known album, so don't fret, most people haven't heard of it... really obscure...

it's by this band that like NO ONE has heard of called Pink Floyd... DSOTM stands for "Dark Side of the Moon" or something like that...

Don't worry, COMPLETELY obscure... nothing that anyone would have gotten.

K-Wise 10-17-2003 05:06 PM

^^ HAHAHAHA

Asta!!

mr sticky 10-18-2003 06:38 AM

neither are remotely my favorites, but...

Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours"

Micael Jackson's "Thriller"

Before the groans start on the second choice, just think of how many songs on that damned disc you can sing all the way through!!! You gotta admit: both are very influential.

sailor 10-19-2003 11:57 AM

Led Zeppelin IV.

mydragonfido 10-20-2003 02:03 AM

Meatloaf
BAT OUT OF HELL

paddyjoe 10-20-2003 03:44 AM

This is the one that's always done it for me. Tough choice, so much fine music around.

IC3 10-20-2003 01:48 PM

This is a freakin hard choice.

I don't know what the best album of all time is in my collection....But I have and always will love Dr. Dre's first solo album after he left N.W.A.

Dr. Dre - The Chronic

Spektr 10-20-2003 03:10 PM

The Cure - Disintegration
