Favorite Streaming Audio Services
What are your favorite Streaming Audio Sources?
I used to listen to Shoutcast, but have switched to Launchcast almost exclusively. Their library is outstanding, and the ability to tailor your station to your unique musical tastes is excellent. I probably listen to 80+ hours a week of streaming audio and it's by far my music deliverable of choice when at home and work. On the road it's XM - but thats a different story. |
1) I almost exclusively listen to http://di.fm when I listen to streaming audio. Especially with the new stations they've added, I'm more than happy with it :) Plenty of different types of electronica, as well as classical, jazz, and salsa :)
2) feel free to use the forum search function ;) ..... http://tfproject.org/tfp/showthread....internet+radio |
The only music station I EVER stream, because I'm stubborn mind you, is KCRWmusic from http://www.kcrwmusic.org
It is a land-based station, aka - you can get it on a FM tuner. Well, thats not totally true. The REAL station is kcrw.org. KCRWmusic is ALL music, and not the talk that is intermixed with the music programming. So all the music programming is re-broadcast on KCRWmusic, so we all can enjoy it. rap, rock, folk, dance, techno, it plays it all. Find the program that you like, and you'll love it to death. Personal favorites: Metropolis Morning Becomes Ecletic Open Road |

Thanks for the heads-up on the earlier thread, I searched for "streaming music" not "internet radio" so I missed it, there are some great resources in there. |

i used to listen to 24 bicycles radio... part of www.live365.com - now they have lots of free stations, all genres, but for many good ones you have to be a 'preferred member' now.. including 24 bicycles as of last month :( still worth a look though..

i found this one a long time ago, and so far it is absolutely the best one www.spinner.com
it has a shitload of stations, and the quality is pretty nice for streaming audio. the only drawback it that you have to download it. otherwise its completely free. i personally would recommend this one above all the rest that i've tried. |
soma fm. they've got a bunch of different channels (some can be found on shoutcast). groove salad is cool. they've also got an indie channel that rocks.
