Clichéd song titles.

I just searched on Kazaa for a song called 'Going Home', by Dinosaur Jr. I didn't enter the band's name and was amazed at the number of people who have recorded songs with those words in the title. I thought there must be loads more clichéd song titles like this, but couldn't think of any. Anyone?

stay away is a song that comes to mind.

Nowadays, i like it when bands don't name the song after the popular chorus which everyone can sing along to :P
Even if its something a little obscure.

But doing that occasionally leads to an even worse song labeling trend. Adding the hook in parentheses after the song title, so people who heard the song on the radio will recognize it...ie: Dammit (Growing Up), Hit or Miss (Waited Too Long) among others.

although some songs don't have "hooks" at all, as they don't follow convential song structure.
verse->chorus->verse->chorus->little solo/interlude->cresendo->chorus again.... something like that.
Although i guess you'll find these songs don't get played on the radio whatsoever anyways.
The parenthese ideas works ok, but i guess its all up to the artists.

maybe in the search function they could, instead of the songs title, have how the song goes.
And you could type a song fragment such as:

dum, dum, doo, dum, doo, doo, dumm

and then get your song
......

good luck sorting through at the bare minimum the 500 pop punk bands that have that in their song titles.

Looking for the "Stars" by Hum? Kinda Smashing Pumpkins-esque, released in mid-90's? Good stuff even if that's not what you're looking for.

or you could be looking for stars by early 90's indie outfit Dubstar. Worth downloading.

I'd say "goodbye" is a pretty clichéd song title.

Let's see....Kazaa....search....yup!

"one"

I can think of 6 different songs with "one" or "The One" as the title off the top of my head. I never installed peer to peer mp3 software after my last reformat, so I can't look to give an accurate figure, but it bothers me for some reason that this song title is so prevalent.

it's by Hum, song title: Stars

She thinks she missed the train to Mars, she's out back counting stars.
She thinks she missed the train to Mars, she's out back counting stars.

She's not at work, she's not at school, she's not in bed, I think I finally broke her.
I bring her home everything I want, and nothing that she needs.

I thought she'd be there holding daisies, she always waits for me.
She thinks she missed the train to Mars, she's out back counting stars.

I found her out back sitting naked looking up and looking dead.
A crumpled yellow piece of paper, with seven nines and tens.

I thought she'd be there holding daisies, she always waits for me.
She thinks she missed the train to Mars, she's out back counting stars.

I thought you'd be there holding daisies, you always wait for me.
She thinks she missed the train to Mars, she's out back counting stars.
