What TYPE/KIND of music do you listen to?
 

Personally I like a lot of different kinds of music, not really into country though.... Hears some of the stuff I do like:
- Rock (Classic, Slow, Hard, Alternative)
- Pop (as cheesie as that sounds)
- Electronic (Breaks, DnB, Ambient) Trance and House are so-so
- Instrumental ( Jazz and Classical )
- Oldies (70's, 80's)
- Rap / Hip Hop (Pop Rap, Underground, Old school hip hop)
- Freestyle
- Retro

* Might add more if I think of anything else.

Well... I listen to almost all
However my favourites are
- techno (minimal,tracne,hard techno)
- hiphop (i'm not really into oldschool here)
- classical music (sooo nice to relax)

Sometimes I listen to punkrock and metal (no death metal here !)

I basically listen to all music..

I listen to everything, but most of it is...

-Rock (which basically encompasses all things rock except for that Abercrombie rock type shit (Creed, The Calling, etc.) and Rap-Rock)

-As a matter of fact, just about anything besides bubblegum pop, and most rap. There's some rap that I really like though, such as Public Enemy, Ice-T, and some Snoop Dogg

Rock (STP, Candlebox, Soundgarden, etc)

"Classic" Rock (Aerosmith, Led Zep, Guns n' Roses, Van Halen, AC/DCetc)

Metal (Pantera, Metallica, Megadeth, etc)

New (not Nu) Metal (System of a Down, Disturbed, Tool, Deftones, etc... NOT Linkin Park, Staind, Limp Biscuit)

Blues (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Roy Buchanan, Indigenous, Albert King, etc)

Punk/Hardcore (Glassjaw, Killswitch Engage, Poison the Well, some Goldfinger, etc)

Prog/guitar craziness (Dream Theater, Satch, Via, etc)

Metal about 90% of the time. No rap. No pop music. No country.

The other 10% is mostly shit like Doors, Pink Floyd, Zepplin, and stuff like that.

Mostly everything, but I have to admit, I like Country. No Rap either. I like 80's music too!

I have really broad tastes...

Most metal - death, black, power, thrash, melodic, etc... but no "nu-metal"

punk (old and new)

blues

jazz

classic/prog rock

and alot of experimental stuff that's impossible to put into one catagory

Anything that has talent behind it.

From techno to old-school country... to hip-hop to jazz

anything and everything...just skipping through my winamp playlist...it goes from Fifty Cent to Howard Shore (LOTR score) to Travis to the Dixie Chicks to the Turkish March to A New Found Glory to music from a cheesy French musical to Gomez to Ben Folds Five to Miles Davis to U2 to Edith Piaf to Elton John to the Strokes to Eric Whitacre to Robbie Williams duet with Nicole Kidman to KMFDM to Ja Rule and Ashanti. Just a small sample.

I listen to all kinds of music, mostly older stuff.

I like everything from Elvis Presley to Led Zeppelin. I listen to a lot of blues, older rock (ie - Elvis, The Beatles, Stones), and some R&B (ie - James Brown, Sam & Dave).

Just about anything...indie-rock, pop, rap, RnB, old rock, some country/blues, trip-hop, dancehall, techno, classical, punk, salsa, gospel, etc....it's all good.

Mostly black metal, but I do listen to death and power metal sometimes too. If I'm not listening to that, either instrumental or old folk music.

Just like you I have an eclectic taste when it comes to music

The only thing I don't really appreciate is twangy Country

Southern Rock or Country with a good rhythm is cool (ala Shania Twain)

Anything except Top 40 stuff and country/western.

I tend to favor bands signed to indie labels, especially Matador, Kranky, Constellation Records and Ninja Tune.

Same here, only it's closer to 95% metal and 5% classic rock.

I'm mostly punk, but I tend to throw all kinds of weird shit in the mix, anything from Bob Dylan to Tears for Fears. Pretty much if it doesn't suck total ass (ie: Creed, Puddle of Mudd, 50 cent, etc.) I'll listen to it.

I listen to any rap that isn't hard. hip-hop and some pop, depends who's singing

I listen to mostly Hardcore, Black/Death metal, and some Tech.

I've gone through so many phases but the steadfasts are

Punkrock

Delta Blues

Roots R-n-R

Garage

Basically the more bare bones and raw the music is the more I like it. Whether it's slow and methodical or piss pounding power chords... if it has heart and soul I love it!!!!!!

Usually, anything from TOOL to Tchaikovsky, Henry Rollins to Rachmaninov.

Sort of a musical jack-of-all trades, expert in none. If it moves me, I'll probably like it.

The only things I don't really listen to on at least a semi-regular basis is country and gospel.

I don't watch MTV, and I don't listen to the radio, unless I'm listening to the classical station or something. Otherwise my music comes from the net and friends and such.

but i also appreciate some 'New Metal' - TooL, Deftones.
and some 'Rock' - Smashing Pumpkins come to mind..

HARDCORE ELECTRONICA,( hence the hardcore 4 life) thats honestly about it some metal but i like early 90's metal gwar prong and the like

+ Some bands I like even though I really don't like their genre (Blind Guardian, Rage Against the Machine, The International Noise Conspiracy)

I like looooads of stuff, almost nothing mainstream, I like the weird stuff! Big into Turntablism - most peps dont even know what that is!!
