The "bjork = vomit" thread
 

It certainly does in my mind. Not only have I never enjoyed hearing her "sing", as she calls it, but her name SOUNDS like someone bjorking! Listen to yourself say it, and imagine seeing your buddy bent over a toilet at New Year's!

You cannot deny the bjorkiness of Bjork.

Listening to Bjork is kind of like listening to Miles Davis, it' is it's own experience. The only way I could describe her voice is " sunday morning pillow talk after a VERY good saturday night" While I dont play her CDs often I do own a few. I started listening to her when she was in the sugarcubes and just followed her progression

well, i feel there is no arguement here. I'm going to say something then back away slowly so that the rest of you can bash Bjork aaaaaaall you want.

you see, people are missing the point.
Bjork fans LIKE when others hate her. I know i love her and knowing that so many people don't gives me a really neat feeling when i am taken away by her amazing power....it makes me feel like i'm in an elite club or something =)

and besides, the more people that hate her, the more intimate the concerts will be in the future for the rest of us!! :lol:

Hell, as much as I dislike Bjork, half the point of the thread (and a half that can't be forgotten) is bringing to light how great her name works as a synonym for "puke". "Mom, Billy ate too many hot dogs and Blow Pops and drank too much Pepsi on the fishing trip, and now he's bjorking in the bushes outside!"

ohhhh, i'm sorry. i totally misunderstood. from the title i gathered than you were comparing Bjork, the woman, the musician, to "vomit" (because afterall, this is in the music section and not the nonsense section)
but now i see you were just attacking her name. it's a little funny, i guess. heh

The correct pronounciation of her name sounds very similar to the french word beurk which means disgusting or yuck.

The beauty of music is that if you dont like it.. you can go back to whatever you do like. No need to get all up in arms about it. Thanks for voicing your opinion though, I just disagre with the P.O.V.

I can see how "Bjork" and "Puke" when used simply as words might sound alike and cause you to post this thread. However, I like her music. I usually take it in small doses, but I like it nonetheless. She has a great voice, and a wonderful uniqueness.

I really like Bjork's music. Can't say i listen to it all the time, but every once in a while it's good to pop it in and relax a bit.

However, I do agree that her name sounds like you're throwing up and so I will use this term in the future when out drinking with friends.

Ever since I heard her sing with the Sugar Cubes I've been a fan... her voice is amazing.

(I did find her freak out on that reporter a bit weird though).
