Do you like Daft Punk? Do you feel nostalgic for 8-bit video games? Do you wonder what it would sound like if those two things were combined? Wonder no more, because I am listening to Microchip's cover of "One More Time," from the tribute album DACHIP.
Whoa, what's that?! That's right, you can now embed mp3 files on TFP! Provided, of course, they are hosted elsewhere on the internet and you have a direct link. Example: [audio]https://sites.google.com/site/sm70filestore/files/08-Microchip-OneMoreTime.mp3[/audio] |
Now westlin winds and slaughtering guns
Bring autumn's pleasant weather The moorcock springs on whirring wings Among the blooming heather Now waving grain, wild o'er the plain Delights the weary farmer And the moon shines bright as I rove at night To muse upon my charmer... A tender and thoughtful poem by Robert Burns, spectacularly played by Dick Gaughan and his guitar. Quote:

Didn't know Gym Class Heroes sampled this song until earlier today. Never actually heard the original which is odd because Supertramp isn't foreign to my playlist. Good to know I'm still hearing classic songs for the first time. |

The Shaggs sound terrible, but I can't stop listening to them.
From The Shaggs wiki page: "The conceptual beginning of The Shaggs came from Austin Wiggin, Jr.'s mother. During Austin's youth she had predicted during a palmreading that he would marry a strawberry blonde woman, that he would have two sons after she had died, and that his daughters would form a popular music group. The first two predictions came true, so Austin set about making the third come true.[2] Austin withdrew his daughters from school, bought them instruments, and arranged for them to receive music and vocal lessons. The band is primarily notable today for their perceived ineptitude at playing conventional rock music; the band was described in one Rolling Stone article as "...sounding like lobotomized Trapp Family singers." [1] As the obscure LP achieved recognition among collectors, the band was praised for their raw, intuitive composition style and lyrical honesty. Philosophy of the World was lauded as a work of art brut, and was later reissued, followed by a compilation album, Shaggs' Own Thing, in 1982. The Shaggs are now seen as a groundbreaking outsider music group, receiving praise from mainstream artists such as Kurt Cobain and Frank Zappa." |

I've been alternating between clapton and Robin Trower. The guitar in "bridge of sighs" just makes me want to spark one up and chill 'till the end of times.
|
It's montage material. |
currently listening to an out-of-the-blue random playlist I came across while looking for something else.

One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard
From my island home I feel a chance To kiss the tired ghosts of Time & Circumstance So give me peace of mind and let me dance And bury all my pain of years beneath the sand Upon my heels these wings I gladly wear Laugh into the face of the anger & despair Give me peace of mind and let me dance Bury all the pain of years beneath the sand Wah Wah |
