My friends car got hit....no!!!!
 

Well my friend went out to hang out with one of his friends......and he came back to her place and saw a cop next to his car.....he was wondering what happened....then he got closer and he saw that his car got hit. Well he found out what happened....his friends roomate hit his car...drove off....and then called her roomate and told her that she hit my friends car (cop used this as evidence) and there where also witnesses....the girl that hit his car is being a total bitch acting like it's not her problem.........her insurance should pay for most of the damages right? And he shouldn't really have to pay anything?
BTW the car is a 2001 pontiac grand prix gtp

I think her insurance should cover it, if not he can sue her.

Assuming she has insurance they will cover it. Make sure he gets a copy of the police report. To make life easier it may be better to go through his own insurance company. Since it was 100% not his fault it will have no effect on his rates and they are much better at dealing with other insurance companies than most people are.

I guess this is the part that gets me. What is she doing that constitutes "being a total Bitch"? It most certainly is 100% her problem. If the police are involved, and if I read correctly...they are, then her insurance company is going to be involved. With the exception of delivering the heartfelt apology that she owes to your friend, it's out of her hands.

Don't say that too fast. Some states are "no fault" in which case it would be considered 5% his fault because his car was there. He's lucky though, 'cause if he was in the car at the time, it'd be another 5%.

Yep very stupid. I think this might not apply though since she left the scene of the accident. I could be wrong though. Either way their insurance will find out about it, so might as well make them work if they're gonna raise rates anyway.

Christ, she did that much damage backing out of a parking space next to it?! She scraped the thing for 2+ feet before REALLY smashing it!

And if she doesn't think it's her problem now, that's fine. She'll find out when she gets her next insurance bill.

The reason I said she was a total bitch is because of the following reasons

1. She never told my friend in person that she hit his car, he found out from witnesses and the voicemail on her roomates phone.

2. She didn't even say a simple sorry, she won't even talk about it to get it straightened out, all my friend did is ask if she had insurance and she tossed her insurance card at him and steamed outta there.

Yeah i told him to deal directly through his insurance company, cause then they do all the arguing. Today we are taking the car to a body shop thats around my hometown, it'll be a little bit of a drive (50 minutes) but the guy does some damn nice work.

Hate to see what her end ended up looking like.....What kind of car did she have?

Man the whole insurance think sucks either way you look at it, atleast from my experiences.

she had a 1995 chevy silverado 1500 pickup.....i'm guessing she doesn't have shit for damage do to those trucks being pretty hard to mess up

Man when you said hit...I though the whole side was going to be caved in...That is nothing...Try sliding into a street light pole on a Icy morning in January, So today the fender is still smashed in:(

There is a guy I work with the has a dent just like that on his car you can get that fixed for cheap, well I could I know people.

Her insurance will pay for it most likely. It sucks when people do wrong and then act like it's not their problem.

Just got an estimate for the whole thing including labor $3608.21 to be exact....they have to cut and weld a new panel in it.

she did a hit and run ( she didnt leave a note on the car) depending on the laws in your state in addition to being liable for the damages (your friend can take the car to any body shop he wants, no matter how much they charge) she could potentiall pay a fine and/or go to jail (hit and run is a mistemeanor)

accordint to the first site, "failure to perform duty after an accident" will put her halfway towards getting her license suspended!

Are you sure you're looking at the same picture that I am? There's no way I'd let anyone put that much bondo on my car.

Im no body damage expert, but 3.5k seems waay to high for a new panel, installation, and paint. 1.5k ... yeah maybe, labor is expensive. but 3.5? A second opinion probably wouldn't hurt.

then again, your not paying for it, so go to the place with the best reputation, not price.

Well her insurance will pay for it all and they did an estimate too and both where within about $50 of each other... The reason why it's so expensive is everything is figured as genuine gm parts and there are a lot of little things around the fender that where broken. Now my if my friend had to pay for it out of his own pocket he would of gone with non gm brand parts. But since his car still blue books at such a good price and he's not the one who caused the accident it was figured with gm parts.
