What do you thnik.
So I have been looking at VR4s recently and I think my best bet is going to lie in this. I found a VR4 in good body shape, but with 100k miles. Well around 40k+ more the engine will start to go and so will second gear. I was wondering if i should buy the car for 2k, which I have contacted the guy and he agrees for that price, and then get a new engine and turbos, and get the trans reworked. What do you think?

How much of the engine/turbo/transmission work are you going to do yourself? It'll get pretty expensive (especially if its an automatic transmission, but even with a manual) if you take it to shops.

Well, if you are talking about a galant VR4, i'd be all over that for 2k. They make great sleepers. However, since you said "turbo's" I assume you're speaking of a 3000gt VR4, and in that case, 2,000 dollars is amazingly cheap...especially for a VR4. I would seriously be wondering if there was something wrong with the car for that price.
Or, maybe I'm missing something? |
they made a turbo galant vr4 for one year, i believe, that had the eclipse turbo engine.

They did have the 4g63 in them. Though, i'm pretty sure they were made for more than 1 year, not positive though.

Oh the things I wouldn't do for a VR4.. the list is very short. Honestly, they have to be one of the best looking and performing cars, they're pretty fucking rare in my area too. So you won't have to worry about being unique ;)
They have awesome performance potential too.. so hey, I say go for it. |
