they're reliable, but as big_bubba alluded to, they're tall, ungainly, and not overly great as a road car. If you have to have something larger and you like Honda, look at the Honda minivan. Much nicer on the road than the pilot. If you're planning on going off road, I'd at least consider upgrading to the Acura MDX. Really, though, if you're going off road you need a real off road SUV - Jeep, Rover, Humvee (not the Hummer H2 SPC (small penis compensator) either), etc.

just rode in one as a passanger this weekend. Not too shabby, it's a nice ride, but it's standard SUV as far as I'm concerned it's bumpy and a bit taller than what I'm used to coming from a small runabout car.
sister she loves it it's enough room for the dog and the baby... ![]()

As far as SUVs go...its not too bad if you realize it was NOT meant to go off the road. Its not too large, but not a uselessly tiny SUV either. It is reliable, and big enough for what most people could neeed, without being huge, wasting gas, or having the "stigma" of a minivan.

The pilot is a pretty good little machine... makes up for all the shortcommings of the CRV. And as far as all the click and clack coming form the anti SUV crowd: Why all ya'll gotta be Hatin'? Perhaps, if a fella lives anywhere that gets icy in the winter, and doesn't want a Subaru or the Volvo XC estate, then why not get a suv???

what good is an SUV in the ice and snow? Unless you're talking FEET of snow, in which case the SUV will help you get started (assuming 4x4 here), but that's it.
Where I live, all SUV's do in the snow/ice is make their drivers think they can go fast. Then they slide into a ditch. |
