BMW Z4 Cobra Concept... one beast of a car

Wow, someone let the Z3 into the feedbag.

I went to the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MassMOCA), and they had a fat car where they added fiberglass to look like hanging fat rolls. Kinda looked like this...

Personally, i find it to be one of, if not the ugliest car i've had hte misfortune of seeing in a long time. I find that huge bloated engine area to be hideous. The rims are just plain gross, Those rear break vents are ugly...so is the rear hatch...and the lights are way too smal. About the only thing i like is the exhaust tips...and even then they look too big.


I sure hope it has awesome performance....cause in my eyes that would be its only redeeming feature.

But seriously, how can you dislike such a beast? It's such a radical design... To be honest I didn't like it at first, but imagine seeing such a presence role past you in the street, or more or less rumble past you. My chin would hit the ground for sure.

BMW needs to fire all of their designers immediately and get new ones because everything they make just keeps getting uglier and uglier. That is easily the ugliest car I've ever seen. I hope is stays a concept and never amounts to anything.

C'mon guys, this car is just a computer rendering probably done by an art student somewhere. I have a hard time believing BMW would ever have a "Cobra" concept of the Z4. Plus the car is just a caricature, really. It couldn't be a real car like this.

looks ok... could definently use some modification... like Halk pointed out looks like the headlights and other parts are disproportionatly small...

as for the cobra name... isnt that already taken by ford...

i find it to be interesting, and definately beefy. the tailights need to be enlarged.

Well I don't know. I have very mixed feelings about the looks of it. It is a very odd creature....... but I kinda like the fat look. I don't know??????

They did nothing. It's an artist's computer rendering. I'm quite sure it has nothing whatsoever to do with BMW.

I think it looks cool.

But I also think that the coolness would "wear off" pretty soon. Kinda like some of the funky clothes you see chicks wear each summer. First time you see them you think "hey, I like that..." Within a few weeks it's "Sheesh.. not another one..."

I'm going to have to go against the crowd and say that I love it. The front should be a bit higher around the wheel, and the nose should taper back a liitle more, but I'd definitely drive it...

... and apparently be mocked by the rest of the world.

those tail lights are pretty ugly....if they changed those it would look a lot better

from what I have read in other BMW forums you'll find that this was just some russian's attempt at making the design sketches in CG.

Yep. For the past few years, BMW has been going down the tubes with their designs. Someone needs to give them a good smack.

Hmmm...it's distinctive, but as people have pointed out it is (thankfully) not the real thing. In my opinion, from the side on view it bears close resemblance to some sort of shoe.

From the looks of it, I'd say that a speed bump would destroy the front end.
