Advice on Refurbishing
I've recently aquired an '84 Camaro Z-28.
My question: where can one go to get some specific parts? I'm talking cosmetic mostly, it still runs perfectly fine, just looks like heck. I'm looking to replace the T-top, maybe the seats, dash, hydraulics on the trunk, rubber around the windows, nothing major. Any thoughts? |
I've found that my 928 has no less than 3 distributors of parts for it. Given the fact that there were probably 10x as many camaros produced each year than there were total 928s made, I'd bet that you could do a Google search for Camaro parts and end up with pages of vendors.
You should first try to locate a Camaro forum (there seems to be one for nearly every model car ever made) and ask the folks there which vendor(s) are best. |
yep, lots of stuff on the web.
i found a company in california that deals exclusively in vintage impala parts.........i'm sure there's one for camaros, too. |
If you find a good place for the minor parts you mentioned, it'll be good to have found someone reliable to get you the big ticket items an '84 is sure to need soon.

Try your local performance store.
There is a place in town here called Van & Truck World and they could order stuff like that and hell they even put it on for you. |
JC Whitney has lots of stuff for your camarao. Also try YearOne.
