I think I'll repost my old hail damage pics

view from the interior through the front windshield.

look at the roof of the car, you can get an idea of how big the dents are.

And here's my mom's car

My step dad's Z3 that you can just barely see has a soft top, can you imagine what happened to it? Sorry, didn't get any pics of it before it got a new top.

The Pathfinder and the Z3 have full coverage, so they are fixed now. I only have liability, and even the homeowners insurance didn't help me out any. So, I've fixed my front and rear glass so far. Still gotta replace the sunroof that is cracked and all the small dents. everywhere.

Jebus! I've heard of golfball sized hail but never seen it...... here in California all we get is wimpy short bursts of tiny sized hail, that monster hail must make alot of noise bouncing off of everything!

Our roof is getting repaired now. Most were golf-ball sized, a few were bigger.

Btu if you cause enough global warming, you don't have to worry about hail anymore [maniacal laugh]

I'm an auto appraiser. I see damage like this any time we have hail roll through. Last one I saw looked like someone with a sledgehammer had gotten pissed at that car. There were dents in the roof that I could stick my closed fist into.

I'd post pics, and they're good ones, but it's not quite ethical given my job =(

Even better would be the pics of a Lexus that I wrote that got shot up in a drive-by. There was this Teddy Bear in the back seat. Got it right between the button eyes. Stuffing was sprayed all over the car. The horror...

I think on my small budget, my step dad and I will just end up using some bondo and then get it repainted.

If you're going to do the labour yourself, try stripping off the interior trim and going after the dings from the inside. Dent Wizard, Dent Doctor, etc all do that method. It isn't easy, but it leaves your paint untouched if you do it right.

You basically need to slowly roll the ding out in a circular pattern starting from the edge in.

Is this the Maxima you were doing the trans work to? Sucks, bro =(

There's a car wash about 30 seconds from here where I plan to go hide my baby if we ever get hail like that. Always plan ahead!

pezking4 -- sorry about the bad luck...

I remember a hail storm like that when I was very young and lived in the Mid-West. Like this incident -- both of my parents cars just got crushed. What do you expect though when hail the size of baseballs are hurled down from the sky... I know there are pics somewhere -- If I find them I'll add them too this thread.

Hail causes hundreds of thousands of dollars to crops each year as well. It can flatten wheat, corn, and soy very easily.
