Mazda Recalling More Than 174,000 Cars

Mazda will recall more than 174,00 cars and minivans around the world, mostly because of a wiring problem in fog lamps. The company says that defective fog lamps on models including the Mazda6 (Atenza in Europe), MPV and Miata will be recalled after one faulty lamp caused a bumper to catch fire. The vehicles involved in the recall include Mazda6 sedans sold in Japan; MPV minivans built between May 1999 and February 2003; and Miatas made between December 1997 and February 2003.

Thats a misconception. Ford only has 30% of their stock, they do not run Mazda. As for quality, its just a headlamp problem, not a powertrain or airbag problem.

Cars combusting is a problem. I would rather have a weak tranny that a car that will combust by itself LOL. I think ford is rubbing off on Mazda a little bit, don't you? Look at all the shared platforms.

Get a grip, a single fog lamp shorted out and managed to catch a bumper on fire. Resulting in a tow to the dealer. Big Whoop! The recall probably involves something real difficult like installing a larger grommet.

As opposed to a systematic problem like hundreds of underinflated tires exploding compounding jacking problems with the foolish twin I beam suspension resulting in the death of your whole family (ala explorer).
