2009 F1 Ferrari?

Maybe it will look like this......

On thing is for certain and that is the new rear wing dimensions. And I don't like it. Its supposedly to create less dirty air and allow more passing. Time will tell.

I agree, the wing looks a little silly on back. Overall downforce will be reduced too, made up by the slicks. Car looks pretty plain as rendered but I'm sure the engineers will come up with a bit of trickery to keep it interesting :)

I like it when they "shake up" the rules once in a while. I know it costs huge bucks to develop the changes, but I like to see new obstacles put into the rules and see how teams develop around them.

good point, I hadn't noticed that

I'm quite excited for the new season. A new cleaner design requirement and KERS. Not that KERS will create better racing but it does shake up the formula and maybe a constructor will catch lightning in a bottle, so to speak, and elevate themselves to the top of the field.

Hey if any of you guys can enlighten me a bit about what they might be able to do with recovered energy from a KERS? I know regenerative braking is used in some vehicles, we deal with locomotives that use it so I know a little about that...but what to do with it on a racecar?

I can only think of heating up a cup of coffee in case the driver is falling asleep...but I will also search around to satisfy my curiosity.

I haven't looked into the rules about it yet, but if they're not using it for driving an electric motor for additional acceleration, or some sort of push to pass system, they have a bunch of high pressure pneumatic and hydraulic systems that could be charged with it. Engine valves are pneumatic, then there's power steering and engine accessories that are hydraulic.
