New truck

Well folks I finally did it, I went today and bought a new truck. It is an 07 toyota Tacoma. It has 4 wheel drive, automatic, and extended cab. It is painted a deep burgundy red and I absolutely love it. I have to be honest, I wasnt too thrilled about getting a toyota but now that I have driven it, sure does seem nice. I just wanted to pass on the good news to everyone out there. Can't wait to test out the 4 wheel drive tomorrow.

Nice. I bet it's going to be reliable. Did you get the 4cyl or the V6? While my '07 4wd RAV4 doesn't have serious off-road type of 4wd, I did get the V6 and it's very peppy.

I got the 6cyl 4.0 liter. I tested out the 4X4 last night and boy o boy was I impressed. There is so much torque in 4lo that you can feel it pull. Im as happy as I can be. I had heard that Toyota vechicles were very reliable especially if you took care of them. My last truck was a 91 chevy s-10 and it had finally seen the end of the road. So if that is any indication of how long an engine can last when taken care of then I should have nothing to worry about. I am still however trying to get used to the transmission. It has something that I think is called AutoStick. That is where the transmission can be put into drive and driven like a normal automatic, or shifted down to low then through the gears like a standard. Its not exactly the same, but its close.

I think you will be much happier with the 6 cyl. You should be well trucked for the next 15/20 years.

I should have got a Tacoma.

Pretty much the best economy light pick-up on the planet.

my friend had an 03 V8 tundra. the interior was a bit crummy (not trashed, I just didnt like the design). but it had an awesome engine/transmission.

Yeah, I agree that the new Tundra interior looks terrible, as does the rest of the truck, but it just doesn't look like it would be comfortable or ergonomic. The Taco looks like a better truck...though, I haven't driven one.

Congrats, woohog. Did you ever get the issue with the S10 ironed out, or no?
