Howling Back
(My poetry professor, having noticed that I wrote solely in classical styles had me read some things by pioneers of the contemporary style. This is my attempt to recapture the style of Allen Ginsberg's "Howl")
Wallflowers hiding vinegar in fragile dormatories of pretense Whispering Kabballah refrains of obtuse thought societies Like Fibonacci ripples spreading ecclectic across causality Turing monks sequestered binary upon resovoirs of silicon Chanting codified punctuation of forbidden art technologies Like caffinated inspirations lacing infernal with anonymity Bleating hordes excising unique from imaginings of youth Demanding mundane incantations of tic-tac-toe realities Like creative prophylactics quelling tedious hyper-activity (PS. here is Ginsberg's poem: http://members.tripod.com/~Sprayberry/poems/howl.txt) |
I think you're going in the right direction with the style - I read the Howl poem (had to look up Moloch), and he seems to throw together things you wouldn't normally associate together, and your poems seems to reflect that. Kudos for taking up a challenge!
