Nonoxynol-9: Spermicide, or mass murder?

Ladies and gentlemen, I write to you today with a heavy heart, and a burdened mind. Just this evening, I was given a chilling and soul-shaking revelation while at the grocery store. As we all know, these so-called "protection" devices called condoms constitute an affront to our Lord by preventing His natural wish for our procreation from happening during intercourse, and promote pre- and extramarital intercourse and promiscuity...

...but now I've discovered they have a chemical agent in some condoms that actually kills the sperm. Our Lord God has bestowed upon us great gifts in wisdom, reason, and compassion... but some have choosen to abdicate from this God-given compassion, reason, and wisdom, by using this wisdom to create a chemical weapon capable of killing millions- YES, MILLIONS of potential babies.

Was it not enough that the hell-bound whores, adulterers, and sinners merely trapped and discarded their God-made, life-creating semen... without this flagrant annihilation? This is truly a weapon of mass destruction- far greater than the crimes perpetrated by terrorists, this is mass murder of the most vile form!

It should come as no surprise to you, my brothers and sisters in Christ, that the murderers at the abortion clinic pass out condoms with this bio-warfare chemical in the name of "safe sex". Is it not enough that they cut the fetus from the very womb? Do they really have such a bloodthirsty desire for killing that they need to attack babies before they're even created??

It's not enough that people live in sin, carelessly wasting their seed with unholy, disgusting acts, like masturbation and pre/extra-marital sex... it's not enough to simply discard the sperm and care not for the million of unborn babies who scream in horror as they die, unfulfilled- they had to make a weapon to systematically kill every last sperm.

They try to tell us that abortion isn't murder... that it isn't the slaying of innocent babies... now this.

Where will it end? Help stop this killing spree by joining me in prayer for all the fallen sperm, and by writing a letter to the condom companies denouncing this spermatozoon genocide.

ironman 08-07-2007 08:28 PM

The Lord may have by His side all the millions little babies I've thrown to the toilet and may he have mercy of my murderer soul. Amen.

Willravel 08-07-2007 08:41 PM

Sperm aren't alive. They're like viruses or cars.

Interesting read none the less.

shakran 08-07-2007 08:43 PM

Quite frankly, and if this offends Catholics on here, complain to your priests not to me, until the Catholic church stops sanctioning child rape, I really don't care what they think is and is not a sin.

cyrnel 08-07-2007 08:59 PM

Am I missing a linky?

analog 08-08-2007 12:06 AM

I didn't really think I needed to add it, but here goes...

One big nevermind.

Seconded.

The_Jazz 08-08-2007 10:44 AM

Why are we 13 posts into this thread without a mention of "Monty Pythons The Meaning of Life"?

You people are slacking.

Willravel 08-08-2007 10:47 AM

I can't speak for anyone else, but I was waiting for you to say it.

Why do people like picking on the Catholic church so much? I mean, don't get me wrong, I love a good Catholic bashing as much as the next guy, but I'm starting to question, why? Not like I've ever been walking down the street and been jumped by a band of angry Catholics hiding in the shadows. In fact, I can honestly say that on a personal level, a single Catholic has never done anything to offend me. Is it just what we hear on the street or in the news about Catholic opinion that gets us riled up? Is a third party witness a good grounds to become prejudiced against a group of people like that? I'm not really trying to make a point, just get some feedback.
I used to wonder this myself. I had nothing more against Catholics then I did any other Jebus-loving people, but I've changed my mind. The organization of the Catholic church is such that high-ranking members of are nearly demi-gods themselves; the Church teaches that they are holy men who cannot be challenged who make the rules. It's much less to do with God and much more to do with maintaining the hierarchy of single white males, maintaining their power and "majesty."

I STRONGLY recommend "Deliver Us From Evil." It's a great documentary about the Catholic Church (and one powerful leader, in particular) who was moved from church to church (rather than prosecuted) after molesting hundreds and HUNDREDS of small children.

I'm almost more angry at the church than him, because they sheltered and protected him, telling parents that he'd be dealt with (and they never did).

The church spent over a billion dollars covering it up.

THAT bothers me. THAT's how they've personally 'attacked' me. Truthfully, "Catholics" don't bother me. The Catholic Church does.

Yet I still question the motivations of someone who would knowingly continue to support an organization that behaves that way.

NetFlix it :)

I'm not a woman. I've never personally experienced discrimination becuase I was a woman. I've never been denied a job because I was a woman. I've never felt unwelcome becuase I was a woman. I've never been objectified by my boobs, ass, or vagina. I've never known anyone denied the right to vote for being a woman.

Does that mean that I should support Women's RightS? Does that mean I shouldn't think poorly of (even denigrate) someone who is being chauvenistic?

How many children do you know that were molested by a priest? How many popes or cardinals do you know
Thousands of African children die every day from birth-passed HIV and starvation. I've never personally met an African child. Nor have I personally suffered from birth-passed HIV, starvation or forced relocation. Just because I haven't personally met, know, or am one of these groups, does not mean that I can support them and disapprove of those responsible for causing the harm or allowing the harm to occur.

We believe these things just because the media says so, but as far as I've seen, I don't have any evidence.

Who exactly kept the books on those billion dollars spent 'covering up' this conspiracy? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying these things never happened. What I'm saying is that I have insufficient data if all I have to go on is what some reporter, who has the motivation of making a big name for himself, has said.
Ignorance of a travesty does not mean it doesn't exist. I understand being skeptical of the media, but the Father O'Grady scandal is well-known and well-documented. There are countless court cases where the Catholic Church settled molestation charges again him for $18 million, $30 million, etc. The information is out there in abundance, if you're willing to look. The documentary itself does a very good job of showing sources, including those video-taped interrogations for one of the court cases against the Church. The problem is HUGE, SYSTEMIC, and WELL-DOCUMENTED through court case after court case. Don't claim there isn't solid evidence if you haven't bothered to look.

I don't want to Godwin this thread, but if the two examples above aren't enough, our late intevention in WW2 is a prime example of where thinking like "I don't see it and I've never personally experienced it, so why should I be bothered" gets us. I doubt many US citizens knew Jews persecuted by Germans, had ever met one, or had ever been persecuted by one themselves. They shouldn't have cared. Or should they have?

Prejudice isn't questioning motives. Go to Dictionary.com. Jeez.

The Catholic church is evil. Any organization that condones and allows rape of children is evil. My motto is "Stop raping children."

The_Jazz 08-09-2007 10:25 AM

Let's focus on the OP, please. This is not the place for a discussion on the politics of the Catholic Church, please take it elsewhere. Tilted Literature is for the discussion of original work, not the airing of your beliefs as they relate to the OP. General Discussion and Politics are wide open if you want to take it there.

Willravel 08-09-2007 10:40 AM

Oops, forgot I was in literature. Sorry, analog.

analog 08-09-2007 08:04 PM

Man... if I'd known people would have taken it seriously and started a fight... I'd have made it way worse just for the reaction.

This turned out to be a decent experiment, even though it wasn't intended to be one. I was just writing satire. People read it as real and some interesting responses poured in...

Thanks, all. :)
