hair around crown area seems to be getting less...

the crown area on my head appears to have a bigger surface then it was last year...i have loads of hair on my head, but i am kind of afraid about this latest sign...any advice? anyone know what could be causing this...

how old are you?

Also - look to the male relatives of your female relatives (if that makes sense) - i.e. your mum's dad, your gran's brother etc.

You may hae male hair loss in one of the female parts of your bloodline (I know that I do - my mum's fater went bald, and recently my brother seems to be developing a bald spot).

Just accept it. Bald guys are distinguished-looking.

Baldness is hereditary, but that doesn't necessarily mean that any of your immediate family will show it. My dad started balding at a relatively young age, but his older brother still has a full head of hair. These things happen.

do some research on propecia. it can slow/stop or even have ure hair grow back if your in the early stages on heriditary baldness.

If you want to stop it, take action soon. It's easier to stop loss as opposed to regrowth. Rogaine can help, and it does work, especially in situations like this.

Or, as dlish suggested, check out propecia. Be warned, it is expensive and a lot of insurance plans won't pay for it since it's considered a "cosmetic drug". If that's the case you can talk to your doctor about possibly prescribing Proscar (it's a prostate med, but it's the same ingredient, just 5x as much) and chopping up the tablets. Cutting one Proscar into 5 roughly equal pieces is tough, but I've seen some determined guys do it. Just don't ask your pharmacist to do it for you. ;)

Dude...face it. But don't listen to me...I'm 50 and have a full head. But I swear, if I start losing my hair it's all coming off. That's the style, anyway! No muss, no fuss.

I second the recommendation to get a supply of Minoxidil (Rogaine) and Finasteride (Propecia). The tip about Proscar is a really good way to save a buck (though I only cut mine into 4 pieces).

um,,, live with it, and avoid comb-overs.

"be at one with yourself" it's damn sexy to the girls

Here's the deal guys. Women don't care about bald heads! Why? Because the men we love the most are bald--our dads, brothers, granddads, etc. Geez. We just don't care. Save your money and buy an expensive pair of shoes. Chicks will definitely notice those.
