A Quiz: "Which religion is the right one for you?"
 

So I was just surfing along, and saw a link to one of those quizzes that supposedly tell you your deepest darkest secrets. The topic of the quiz was "Which religion is the right one for you?", so it was something that has been on my mind after participating in a couple of the Religion & Spirituality threads. (here and here)

So what was the one it picked for me? Satanism.

WTF?!?!

Now I know these things aren't exactly scientific... and in this example, I think these quizzes are user submitted. But in a million years, I would never had expected *that* religion to pop up.

Now I was one of the people who immediately thought about a "Satanic Cult"... So I have some research to do.

So I'm just wondering... how accurate is it for the other people here on TFP? Please post the results and whether you feel that it is an accurate reflection of your religious beliefs.

You could also try the Belief-O-Matic by Beliefnet.com, which is 20 questions. Lighthearted ("Warning: Belief-O-Matic™ assumes no legal liability for the ultimate fate of your soul."), but attempts to be accurate.

Kinda of sums me up, but think i could do better than it. But probably believe in some form of god more than i don't believe there is one. I'm all a little confused, and probably don't know enough about other religions to understand their relevence to me.

Not sure what the first three are doing in there (Quaker?!?!) but 4-8 are right in line with the direction I'm currently going in....

You are an agnostic. Though it is generally taken that agnostics neither believe nor disbelieve in God, it is possible to be a theist or atheist in addition to an agnostic. Some of the questions really made me think, and put how I was feel very well into words.

The quiz, surprisingly enough, managed to [to an extent] accurately depict my "religious beliefs". At the moment, I'm in somewhat of a phase of transition, and while I think I would have been 100% atheist come a year ago, I've become somewhat more open to the possibility of something greater, or some sort of after life:

Seems about right to me. This stuff is not rocket science.

With the rewording on the first test, my score was just slightly different, but Paganism and Satanism still ranked high. With that in mind, I will honestly say that to label the things I believe to be is limiting and misguided. Here's the results of the revised quiz:

On the other, the top two were New-Paganism (90%) and Theravada Buddhism (84%)...

I didnt take either test yet. But did you notice the one at quizfarm changes every time you refresh the page? I am going to take it anyway, but I just thought it was odd.

Ok, just took the test. Since I define myself as agnostic atheist (I don't believe in a God, but I cannot be certain that I'm right on this), some of the results make sense.

I can see how I scored highly on the Satanism scale, after reading the explanation. Though it seems their definition of Satanism is a bit odd..

If I were to follow any religious path or order, the First Church of Satan is, in fact, the most appealing schol of thought. I do not, however, believe that any institutionalized religion or spiritual collective is in any way beneficial to humanity (except, perhaps, for some small self-focused groups like the Shaolin monks and other groups that focus on the improvement of the inner self and the enhancement of the mind.) If you think that Satanism is in any way related to or dependent on devil-worship, human sacrifice, or any of that other fun TV and Movie stuff, please either take some time to educate yourself or go talk with my mom. Modern Satanism has nothing to do with traditional Infernalism and Luciferianism. If you read Anton LaVey's work, be aware of the racist overtones and intolerance that have been completely rejected by most modern Satanic groups.

I guess most people would score highly on agnosticism, atheism, paganism, stuff like that. I get the feeling that most devout Christians or Muslims or Hindus wouldn't bother taking a test like this (with the exception of those in this thread so far) but those who don't follow any of the major religions would be interested to see what a test should decide? Is that too sweeping, or is there a bit of truth? I wonder.

Anyway, I won't bother copying all the results, but I tied 71% with Islam and Satanism.

Took it this a.m. and scored high as an atheist. Tried again after lunch and got 73% agnostic.

If Ruse casts another evil gaze and sucks in my post I'll have to modify my responses.
