What should i do?
 

Hey, kind of just realised now looking at the practice exams for a subject im doing now a few hours before the actual exam that the chances of me passing this subject are not that great.

This subject is not a core subject (meaning i dont have o do it to as a pre-req do other subjects down the line) so if i fail its not like i have to re-do it, it just leaves a bad mark on my transcript.

Most subjects can be repeted over any of the semesters and even over summer semester if need be.

The question i am toying with now is should i;
a) Go to the exam, and if i fail repete over summer, problem is if i repete over summer then i can't go on this holiday ive been saving for all year that me and a few friends have planned. Big BIG trip we are talking about.

b) Go to the exam, and if i fail do it as an extra subject next semester giveing me more then the usual amount of subjects next semester and overloading me with work.

c)Go to the exam, and if i fail do it at the end of my entire course, so i will only have that one subject do over a semester, problem with this is i will be at uni for another 6 months then i should.

d) Go to the exam, and if i fail dont repete it, leaving the bad mark on my transcript after finishing.

e) Dont go to the exam, and use the time to study for my next one the day after at 9am. This subjects i have already passed with other requirements and the exam will only be adding to how much i have passed by. Then do one of the other options in a) to d) when i fail.

Right now im in the mind of going for option c) and cramming like crazy for the quesions i thought i knew. Just thought i would put this question to all of you to see how other people would approch it.

Looking back now then main problem is too much going out and not enough study during the semester. Thats one thing i will have to take more care of next time.

LOL fanx for the advice :p the idea had crossed my mind buy my surname starts with a 'B' so im right up the front, ah well labs are closing and im off to face the exam, wish me luck :)

and atleast rock up to the exam. 12 weeks down the shitter and you dont even have a stab at it. i thought i was thoroughly boned for todays exam, and i danced outta the exhibition building.

Do the exam.

A friend of mine was in an electronic course. He was a 1st or 2nd year student taking an upper year course, so he didn't know any of the other students, and he had a busy social life. So, he didn't socialize much.

He found the material hard. Was working quite hard for a 40% average on his assignments. He talked to the prof, who simply told him not to worry.

In the end, before he did the final, he did the math: there was no way he could possibly pass the course, even if he aced the final. So, he said "screw it".

Turns out that he was easily in the top half of the course: the course material ended up being belled. His decision to not show up at the final cost him his credit.

So, show up to the final. Do your hardest. Deal with what you will do afterwards afterwards.

just a thought, option b? how is that possible.. arent the uni more likely not to allow you to overload given that you couldnt handle a normal load?

Hey i did the exam, you were right it wasnt all that hard, instead of a blatent fail i think i might have just snuck over the line and got me a pass :)

Ill post back when i get my results in a month or so.

I would have said to go with option "d".

One class (out of the 40 or so you'll take in under grad work), especially one that's not required as a pre-rec, isn't all that important in the grand-scheme of things.

Life's too short to worry about that shit. Go on your "holiday" (hehe, are you british?) and have fun!

Naw im not british, im aussie, but its cold in winter here in Melb so im despretly after warmer climate, The holiday is im going with a few mates to the beaches in the philipines for all of January.
Maby i should have picked someone a little closer to home for my first plane trip but yeah im happy :).
