Energy Bars
Do you eat them?
How often and what's your favorite? I've tried many, but I just picked up the new Snickers. I am not looking to watch my weight or sugar intake, just something to give me a little boost in the early afternoon instead of tempted to make up another latte. I just want something that kinda fills me, gives me a boost, and tastes decent. any suggestions? |
Clif bars are pretty good, and they're not all pure sugar, so you'll feel fuller and won't crash as quickly. They can be kind of dry, though.
Some of the Balance bars aren't too bad, either (I really like Cookie Dough), but they're higher in saturated fat, and some of them leave an aftertaste. Of course, after eating so many different protein bars, most of which run the gamut between bad and terrible in terms of taste, my notions may be a little off. |
Although not technically an energy bar, I like eating an Enteman's (sp) breakfast bar each morning. It tastes great, and has a little sugar to give me pep until I get to my office to have breakfast.

I usually have a spare "power sport" bar on hand if i am hungry at the moment. They aren't much on taste or texture, but it gets me alert and focused back on the task at hand.

Odwalla bars are where it's at. They don't taste all scary and chemically synthesized, they just taste like food.

All just fancy names for a candybar...

mmm clif bars. they rock. and if you dont always get adequate vitamin X or mineral Y like me, then they are handy to have around.
i really like the ones with caffine cause they have coffee beans and mint frosting (sort of). and the luna bars cause they have frosting, but are still "good" for you. :p |
My personal favorite is the chocolate Powerbar. I take one everyday 30 minutes before I go to the gym. That is the only Powerbar flavor that I will eat. The rest of them are pretty bad.
