Going to Europe - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I am going to be leaving for Rome for 3 months, on the 29th of January. Just about every weekend I am there I will try to take a trip to somewhere in Europe. I was just looking for suggestions on specific places to visit. I'll have internet access over there, so lots of pic threads from each city.

I was in Paris over christmas... quite bueatiful over there.. even when its sleeting

I was only over there for 3 days.. took a few cheap tours and went to the bars.. it was just a "for fun" trip cause my father is a pilot and I can still fly for free until I graduate college and become, quote, "independant"

Go see the "bone chapel" (ossuary) in Sedlec (a suburb of Kutna Hora in Czechoslovakia, or whatever it's called now. Czech Republic). It's supposed to be a truly memorable experience.

I've been studying gothic and mideval architecture in class here at tech.. and I've NEVER seen something like that except in a movie.. well... to that extent... thats really intriguing.. pretty spooky.. but interesting none the less

I may sound off -but please do buy a few travel guides. If on a budget, get a Let's Go Europe. Lots of good suggestions. If you need specific tips, do ask here.

Go see Venice, it should only be a 6 hour train ride from Rome, and the ticket wouldnt be very expensive at all. Beautiful city, make sure you see the inside of the Cathedral in the main square.

Make sure you go to Prague and Salzburg.

Fly RyanAir when ever possible, they have some really cheap flights.

Lugano, Swizterland is just inside the Swiss border, it's one of my favorite places in Europe. If going to Milan, make sure to visit the Castle Museum.

my favorite place in europe was switzerland. it's not for those on a budget, but it even bests paris for the whole european experience. just to show how much money you need there, a beggar on the street was riding a new bicycle and was dressed in new biking gear.
