just delivered my daughter!!
Well actually my wife delivered her, I just caught her. We had our second unassisted home birth at 3:32am this morning, perfect birth after two hours of hard labor.
Anya Wren Martin, is in perfect health. |
Congrats to you and your's.
Cheers to a happy family. |
Congrats on the home birth! Our last child was a home birth. I almost had to catch her. I told the wife I'd go and get my baseball mitt, just in case, but, the doctor got there with 5 minutes to spare.
Congrats again! |
I offer to you, my heartiest congratulations for you and your wife, tecoyah!!
Welcome to the world, Anya Wren Martin. It can be a scary place, but with two wonderful parents...you'll do just fine, sweety. |
Nice catch, dude!
Congratulations! |
Congratulations!
Oh, and nice catch :D |
Congrats - and I love the middle name, Wren. Nice choice! Were these deliberately unassisted births, or is your wife just a really fast deliverer and you didn't have time to get to the doctor?
|
First birth was in hospital....my wife did not care for the experience in the hospital and thus we have gone homebirth. many thanks to everyone, indefinable joy to all.
|
yey babies!!!! congratulations!
|

|
Congratulations!
|

Congratulations! You and your wife are very brave for going through it alone :)
|
Congrats - also, kudos on the name.

|
Congratulations on the new daughter. I have 2 daughters myself. 4 years old and 4 months old.
|
Daughters are so wonderful! Congratulations and enjoy every blessed minute as they will fly by!
|
Congratulations!!!
I watched all three of mine being born, including one caesarian(sp?). Now, they are all old enough to drive, but I shall never forget the sheer emotion of those moments. What joy! Hope! Concern! Anxiety! But mostly joy! Treasure them while they're tiny, because they do grow up so quickly. |
the subj line flew out at me and I had to say: congratulations!
|
Wow. Home births, eh? Very determined and courageous lady.
Tell her way to go!! Take care of that family. :) |
congrats
i guess the difficult part starts now |
you are all wonderful people, thanks for the support, and yeah....the hard part has just begun, gotta love it though.
|
Congratulations!! As a father of two daughters, I know what joy you guys are going through. Nothing else compares to the birth of a child.
|
Aww...so sweet. :-)
|
*warm smile*... thanks for sharing... it's exactly what i needed to read...
what a wonderful gift... congratulations... and enjoy her :) |
Many congratulations!
(looking forward to baby #1 in six weeks, over here!) |
Congrats dude!!
Wish our deliveries were that smooth. My wife ended up with extended hospital stays both times. |
Congrats, and thats a cool name....like an author or something.
|
thanx....we worked hard on the kids names, a few battles too.

Kid names are hard to come up with. Even if you think of one you like, there is always a chance it won't mesh with the baby's personality... and how do you know the baby's personality before they are born?
For my daughter, the 2 ultrasounds couldn't reveal the sex, so it was a mystery until SHE was born. I'm glad she was a girl, partly because we couldn't think of too many cool boy names! |
Congratulations!! Very nice name also :).
|
Congratulations!
I'm curious as to whether she took any sort of pain medication or anything. Please ignore if it's too personal a question, it's just that my wife always talks about how she will want to have her children at home and without any meds... |

Congrats buddy! You've got one brave wife, and one kid with an awesome name!
|
Actually, my wife decided on home birth "because" she didnt want drugs. We had our first in a birthing center and they ignored all our requests( no drugs, dont cut the cord until we ask, not giving birth while laying on her back, etc...). The pain was actually less at the two home births since she was in total control at all times and could give birth in whatever position she was comfortable with.
That said, home birth is not something to enter into lightly. We did much research before we were ready, and knew the risks as well, minimal though they may be. If your wife (and you) are truly thinking along these lines, let me know, as I am sure my wife and I would be willing to pass along some helpful info. |
Congratulations to you both.
You both are brave souls. I welcomed my first child into the world a month ago. We went with the drug option however. She had a epidural and I asked for one, but was turned down. "Thank heaven for little girls" - Maurice Chevalier |
Congrats
very brave, but then again think about it...no more than 100 years ago everyone did this....and we so far have done quite well from our grandparents gene's. Hope the little girl turns out to be a heart stealer...and you going to have to beat off the boys with a stick ;) |
Congratulations. You and your wife are truly blessed
|
BIG congratulations!!

Congrats. A very cool name. She'll be a looker with a name like that.
