Seeing stars?
I never understood what it meant to see stars until one day when I got up too quick and felt dizzy and could see "stars" all around me. I figured it was just because I had gotten up so fast....
Once, last week while I was sitting in class, it happened again. I wasn't doing anything, just sitting there and I saw stars. It confused me but I didn't think much of it. Then, yesterday in the middle of a shower, just standing there, it happened again.. I didn't feel dizzy or anything, but yet I saw stars.. Anyone have any idea what caused it? I tried searching but can't come up with anything related to it.. |
GET THEE TO A MEDICINE MAN!!!
who knows what it could be? it could be caused by low blood pressure, where as you got up, you got up faster than your pressure could increase so blood rushed out of your head. or it could be something else entirely. go to a doctor. |
It happened to me a few times too. But than I wasn't feeling verry well. Maybe It's coused by a lack of sleep or as Meal said a low blood pressure.

Low blood pressure, or low blood sugar levels.
My doctor concluded that I should start eating breakfast, since I rarely did that at the time. Haven't had the stars since. Ergo: make sure you eat regularly. |
Could be low blood sugar levels.. I dunno. I'm pretty sure it's not low blood pressure because I got a check up a few weeks ago and it was normal.. and when I was at Wal Mart last week with some friends we all did that BP checking machine they've got on the pharmacey and I was on the high end of normal...
As for eating regularly.. I certainly do that. I eat a lot! Breakfast, snack after class, lunch after some more classes.. snack, night class, then dinner.. and 3 protein shakes mixed into the day depending on when I work out... I guess I'll make an appt to see the doc next week, maybe sooner if it happens again. |
the only times it's happened to me is when i do a flip or cartwheel or something, but never just sitting around. make an appointment.
|
I see no reason to consult a doctor if this has only happened a few times. Low blood sugar can easily do it, or just not being in a good shape...not having slept enough can do it, and of course low blood pressure...

I get those same symptoms on occassion. I find that its due to low blood sugar. In fact, sometimes I can hardly see anything. If it happens again, try eating a candy bar or drink a soda.

Look up *orthostatic hypotension*
