When someone you know suddenly becomes beautiful (wthout changing)
 

I was checking through some old FB posts I made, and found this comment. It was about my girlfriend, before she was my girlfriend... but I was wondering, how often things like this do happen

Has this ever happened to you?

So say there is a person you know, not very well in all probability, that you never really noticed before. Like you may well have known this person over one year and never thought about them or really spoke to them much.

I'm talking about a girl for example. And then one day you notice, right out the blue, that she is really good looking, and Im talking like serious man - really beautiful - in a kind non conventional way (and I dont mean "non-coventional" in a patronising sense at all.

I never knew this happens, but it does, or has, to me.

I ain't saying names though....

I think, yes, this has happened to me. I think it might have more to do with some kind of veil dropping situation. Like a situation comes up and this person shines or reveals a part of themselves and suddenly the alignment of body and soul happens and you are struck, and you can't understand how you didn't see it before.

Curse my nonverbal ways, explaining shouldn't be this hard...

Absolutely. They do something that makes they beautiful. They surprise you with a talent or fortitude or skill or a show of heart.

It happens when you're not attracted initially, maybe she isn't physically attractive enough to be on your radar. Then you get to know her; something about her that isn't obvious makes her look better. It sneaks up on you because you put her into the "I'm not interested" category, and you stop paying attention to her that way.

I've noticed that, even though I've always gone for the unconventional looks-wise, as I get older looks mean less and less to me, and content of personality means so much more. The geese are becoming swans right before my eyes.

It's happened. I really can't think of what made me notice, or even who it was, but I remember it happening and thinking it was odd.

Very true. I've never been one to be attracted on just looks, if a woman isn't up to me mentally and have a good personality that I believe to be compatible then theres no point in going any farther then Hmm nice ass or face.
One of my ex's was a very plain jane type, not much to look at but she had a very strong personality and could debate with me without getting emotional or angry. Pity she decided she could do better then me.

Yeah, once. Wouldn't go as far as saying beautiful, but more attractive for sure.

I don't remember the ones I've seen it happen with, but when their attitudes cleaned up they were quite pretty or handsome.

However, I know this isn't the same but it's on the same level. When you're around your kids all the time, you look up one day and go "oh my god what happened? she was a squirming baby yesterday" she's always been a pretty child but, after going through photos sorting the years, i finally noticed that i don't have a "baby" anymore... my 13 yro looks like she's old enough to be 18. my uncle called after receiving this year's spring photos and asked me what happened did i exchange kids somewhere in time

now if her attitude, yes that preteen one, would hurry up and go away, i think i might survive through to 16. but to quote bill cosby as his mother said "i brought you into this world and i can take you back out!"

Happens CONSTANTLY to me.
